First of all a big hi to everyone on the board, yes you got it right another new member with alot of questions to ask  Sorry!

Right here goes with my first question and post.

I have been wearing extensions for quite some time now and am getting really fed up with having poker straight hair, I would like to go for a new look (a curly one!) Could anybody tell me where to get some gorgeous bodywave hair from which is good quality but the main thing is I need it to keep its curl. I have heardfrom so many people that they buy wavy hair and after one was it looses its curl, also as I have never had curly hair before I need to know how to treat it, such as, after I have washed it do I need to put a spray in it as my own hair goes quite frizzy. Please do not suggest for me to put tongs through my straight hair as I have tried this and it takes me ages and to be honest I have not got that sort of time in the morning when getting ready for work.

If there really is no hair out there that keeps its curl then can someone advise me of some top quality hair as at the moment I am using your average "100% Human Hair" from a local shop retailing at £26 a pack and after one wash it is frizzy and horrible.

I am looking for 20" #22, prefebably bodywave (keeping its curl) or straight, I don't really want to spend no more than £100 really and am willing to go for 18" if it is cheaper.

I am hoping someone can help maybe you sell the hair, but please I only want top quality as I have had so much sh*t in the past.

Thank you everyone!

Did you try Amanda who posts here and lives in the UK also? I think her site is hairextensionsbyamanda.com.

it will stimulate hair growth

Perhaps they do know what they're doing and they gave you all the proper care suggestions and you're not following it. Hey, I've seen it happen.

Hair By Gia should be on the receiving end of your concerns and have the opportunity to make things right with you.

There's more blasting on the stylist than any explanation I can try to pinpoint to see what went wrong. Because of that, I come away from your posts feeling more sympathetic to the stylist.

Mandy Dee I agree with the other ladies, you need to contact Gia's. She needs to evaluate the situation to find out why your extensionsn are coming out & taking hair out with them.

You are assuming that it was from the glue or the weight, when that may not be the cause. Were you given proper care instructions and are you following the routine? Contact her, and if she is a reputable extensionist she would defintely get you right in to evaluate the situation and fix it.

How many bonds have you lost? I realize when you are new to extensions that even losing a few can be scarey and reason to panic....but if its only a few then there probably is no reason to panic, now if you are losing ALOT this is definitely a big concern. How do the rest of the bonds feel? Do they feel tight? are they pulling?

I think we need more information before anyone can say what the problem might be.

Hi Mandy Dee,

I had hair pulled out of my scalp from ext and it ALL grew back.  I had mini bald spots (size of a pencil eraser), one bald spot the size of my thumb, and over all thinning.

I always say this but I do not feel it was the  fault of my ext stylists, and I followed instructions, so I am not hard on myself about it either.

My hair DID pull on my pillow every night, waking me up.  That should have been a red flag.  I wore it in a low fabric scrunchie to bed but now I would wear a satin turban.

Also, one day my Jack Russell and I were wrestling on the floor and he grabbed my ext in his mouth and shook to kill, LOL!

I was going thru MAJOR stress at the time and I am beg to feel that stress played a role as well.

There can be mult factors.

Please call Gia and talk to her about your concerns.  It should grow back.

I switched to clip ons at the time of hair loss and my hair grew back.  Biotin, etc.

Best!
LC

Sorry to be cynical but I think Mandy Dee just wanted to bad mouth a salon. Also, wasn't this thread started by LoveHair? Why did Mandy Dee change the subject?

No worries, you are not being cynical at all.  She did bad mouth a salon/stylist in the middle of another thread.  I was just being rational and logical w/ her.

I was actually still waiting for an answer to the original post/question about a good wave hair that keeps a nice wave.

I have never had luck w/ Body Wave human hair holding its original wave pattern.  I have had French Refined hold similiar curl through washings, though.

It seems that the body wave hair is partly permed but also partly styled to have that nice wave to it when it is new.  Once it is washed, the *style* part of it is gone, leaving a more 'realistic' body wave pattern.

all body wave drops the wave. It will take curl better and give bouncier curl with more body than silky straight. I wish bodywave would keep the gorgeous wave it has when its fresh out of the package...would be perfect for me!
