Whattup peeps. I have been rockin a taper with curls like my whole life and i just started shavin my hair recently. I tried it last year so i could try to get waves but i was unsuccessful and i ended up having matted down hair with a bunch of pomade on it. I thought that with my texture of hair, because i am mixed, it wasn't possible.
But then i started reading these threads and got some pointers and decided to give it a go this summer.
So here is my progress after about a month of brushin now. Tell me what u think and i am open to criticism.
 Ps, is it bad to use two products at once? i am usin mostly dat pink lotion and a fingertip of sportin waves to keep my ish from standin up.

thnx for the welcomes. Yo, imma be real wit yall. I envy yall who have nappier, curlier hair. my mom'z side of the family always be tellin me i got good hair but deep down inside, i'd rather have nappy hair so i could get dem waves goin at a really short hairlength. I have to let my ish grow to a like half and inch to get "some" waves.
I don't understand how people be likin that "kitted" look. To me, it be lookin a lil silly and over the top. But thats just me.

Hey i'm also new to this website I will post some pics in a few weeks when i get my webcam to work, I have only started to take waving seriously these last past couple of months. |

I'm not going to get my hair cut untill some time next month Right now im using carrot cream im also doing the H20 method. I really dont like putting products in my hair they suck !!! I'm two weeks in I have a long way to go become I get my hair to the level i want it to be. I brush ever day with a softie for connection for about an hour every day and brush in between when ever i get break as a result I'm seeing some results. I will keep u posted. NG

Here are som more pics from different angles.   PS, is my hair thinnin or is that just the camera effect? It be lookin a lil' sparce in the back of my head.
 Also, is it normal that waves are wider and straighter on some parts of my hair? because i can't get like any waves on the very top of my head or the back.

jus keep workin the brush and u good. try to start furtha bak when u brushin to. like near ur crown cuz from pics look like the top near crown is straight and the front top is wavin. othawise u doin good

I used to use everything from murrays, dax, and just recently, sportin waves in da black can but when i put dat ish in my hair right before i put on the wave cap, my waves be lookin all matted down. So now i just use the pink lotion and sleep with a stockin cap on. I might throw on a fingertip amount of sportin waves tho if i'm goin out but mainly just because it smells good. |
