As a way to make your hair grow?  Or grow faster?  Pull too hard and you may induce traction alopecia.  Scalp massages and regular cardiovascular exercise would better serve you and your hair.

Dave is right. Hair grows about 1/2 inch per month and there isn't much you can do about that. So pulling hair is not going to it. It can actually cause you to loose hair around the hairline like Dave said.
