Hi . I have natural platinum blonde hair and I would like something different.  I like my hair,  i just think it needs a little spice.  I am thinking about getting strawberry blonde hightlights, but I've never seen anyone with hair like that.  Of course I would not attempt this on my own, I have a salon that I go to.  What do you guys think?  Hot or not?!?!?  Maybe a different color??

I am always asked "what do I use in my hair to get it that color?"
Even styist have asked, and I am thinking, can't you see my roots.
And the famous "people would die for your hair"

I just want to be different, I look the same as I have for years.

So I don't want someone to say, yeah that will look great.  I want honesty.  PLEASE, ANY suggestions??

It doesn't matter what your natural color is, even if it's a highly coveted color, it's normal to want to try something different once in a while. It doesn't matter how pretty or thin or rich or WHATEVER, everybody craves change, but of course!

ANYWAY ... I personally can't envision strawberry blonde on platinum. I almost can't envision ANYTHING on platinum, except for a darker color, say a shade of brown. I must say, I've never even SEEN anyone with platinum naturally -- I didn't think it was possible. Anyway, what about the brown (low lights)? If not, would you want to dye your whole head rather than do just highlights because a different shade of blonde might be a nice change. I'm actually thinking a color like I currently have, which I'm calling "ginger ale" -- kind of a taupy blonde. I just got my hair done and was disgusted with it -- only because it's normally on the platinum side and  what I ended up with was NOT what I asked for. It's really not a bad color though -- you might like it since you're sick of platinum.

If by platinum, she means extremely light blonde, kind of like a Swedish blonde, it is very possible.  My hair was just like that until my early 20s, then it became to darken, and even though I'm over 35, it's still blonde but a darker blonde.  Except for stylists who can see that I don't dye or color my hair, most really don't believe that my hair is natural (especially when it was very very light).  I have two daughters whose hair is the very same way, but they're still children, so someday, I'm sure it will darken.  However, it is true that natural blond adults are rather rare.

But, take a trip to Sweden.  You'll be amazed.

I like my hair color, I don't want change my whole head, just some spice.  You think strawberry blonde is too much?  I don't want brown, I really do not think it would look good on me.  I want to be differednt.  Let's say I leave some blonde on top and do a few strands of red under that but leave the rest blonde.  Sounds confusing, but imagine just a liitle red coming through.  I  found a few pics searching the web, and the are okay, but not exactly what I am looking for.   I do not want a drastic change,  just a little.  Thanks for your advice!!!

Yes, it is all natural.  I will burn if I'm out in the sun in five minutes.  I have learned my lesson, and I now sometimes put sun block on my scalp where I part my hair.  I am 27 and my hair has gotten a little dark underneath, but not much.  Of course usually people do not believe that I don't put anything in my hair to color it, shoot, I rarely blow dry or use hair spray on it.

Blue, and sometimes greenish-blue.

It sounds like the strawberry might go well with your skin.  However, it's impossible to tell with only words.  I'd strongly suggest getting a consultation (it should be free; if it's not, steer clear) or two with a stylist and telling them what you want.  If I'm not mistaken, highlights lift color from your hair to make it lighter, so it sounds like lowlights might be want you want.  But having someone actually look at your face and hair would really be the best judge on what will work, not only in terms of color, but also your hair texture.

Thanks Anne for the advice.  Yes I have a salon that I go to, I was gonna stop in after work and see what they say.  I also wanted to hear what other people thought, and maybe there is someone out there that has tried it. I'll keep you posted, thanks again!
