I have an infusion of gray hair. Because of my age 40, and the fact that I have young children, I do not wish to go gray just yet. Unfortunately my gray is VERY hard to cover. My stylist has tried a number of long lasting permanent colors, and I have also started highlighting my hair to try to mask the gray at my temples which is where I have the most gray and which is the most difficult to cover as well as where it tends to fade the fastest. I also use a tinted shampoo (Redken) between colors. My stylist will not color my hair more often than every four weeks. And I get highlights every 2nd or 3rd visit. By the way I am a very dark brunette, and my highlights turn a very golden brown. Do you have any suggestions for a longer lasting color? I was using Matrix brand permanent color.
