Hi everyone.  Sorry this is long.

My name is Annie and I have been coloring my hair for over 18 years.   I did the box coloring. I have bleached my hair and I have had it done professionally. I'm back to doing it my self. I no longer buy the box color; I go to the beauty supply store, like sally’s, and buy the color and developer separate.  I’m trying to learn more about hair coloring and that is how I came across this site. I bought a book, "hair coloring made simple" to get the basis of coloring. The reason why I have become so interested in hair coloring is because I have red orange undertones that dominate any color I try. The only way the red does not dominate my color is when I bleach my hair. But I didn't want to continue bleaching my hair. My hair is dark brown and I want to be a light brown to a dark blonde. I am actually looking for the sandy blonde but more on the light brown side. Light brown and dark blonde are just slight different in color, but both promote warm color, (red). I have even gone to the salon and it still come out the same. I know there has to be a way to get the color I want without so much warmth. And to make it even more difficult dark brown roots with blonde hair, trying to even this out will be a problem. I hoping to get some advice and learn from the many people here.
