Hi, I'm new here and just had my hair foiled to a beautiful lt. blonde.  Previously I hadn't colored or cut it for a year and there were alot of split ends cut off by the stylist.  I now have a great cut and color and my hair is in super condition.  I would like advise on a good conditioner or deep conditioner (If I can deep condition without fading the color?) to keep my hair healthy without fading the color.  Any suggestions?

Thanks much!

If you're only bleached this probably won't effect you but using a protein conditioner can fade your color. Something about the larger molecules pushing out the color molecules ... I'm not a professional. This is just something I read and then confirmed with my hairdresser. I have blonde hair too -- bleached and toned. I try to stay away from the protein conditioners for at least a few weeks, just because I want to hold on to my toned color for as long as I can. That said, I like:

Kerastase A LOT (the "orange" line AND the "green" line/the Masks

L'Anza -- Leave-In protector; LOVE it. (It's one of the few things I've bought more than once) I mix it with Sheer Blonde Spotlight.

Joico K-Pac is good too -- the deep conditioner; and it smells delicious -- I hate to say it but I think that's the biggest part of the draw for me.

I also use all kinds of other stuff -- drugstore and salon. Those are my faves.

Thanks much Alayney, a toner was also put on my hair as well so I won't be using any protein conditioners.  Thanks so much for your reply!

Sackpac,

I recently started using Mane n' Tail shampoo/conditioner based on some awesome reviews that I've read about it (it was originally designed for horeses' manes, but is safe for human use).  I alternate every other day between the Mane n' Tail and my regular shampoo/conditioner, and I have to say that I sometimes cheat and do the Mane n' Tail  a couple of days in a row because it makes my hair look and feel so soft and silky!  My hair is foiled blonde also and I haven't noticed any problems with fading, but I do use a blonde brightening shampoo on my alternating days, so I don't know what would happen if you were to use it every day.

Good luck!
Nikki

Some things I also use for keeping the blonde color fresh and NOT brassy:

Same as above -- a "blonde brightening" shampoo. I have Jhirmak for silver hair, actually. Love it! And I also use Fanciful Rinse in White Minx. This goes on after you've combed/treated your hair -- you don't rinse out. It doesn't make the hair greasy -- I can't even tell I've used it except for my color looks better. And sometimes a mousse for blondes (John Freida Sheer Blonde Mousse). This stuff REALLY keeps my blonde fresh!
