Subject: Coloring D-Lux hair? HELP!

Hi all. I just received my D-Lux order from yourhairshop.com. Fast shipping...hair looks beautiful. I ordered the #2, 4, and 30 combo. There is a pic of a gal wearing it on her site. However, my hair is dark brown with auburn highlights and I was thinking the # 30 would be a more reddish color. It is really a honey brown. I need to order the color ring but didnt have time before my appt. So my question is...has anyone colored the D-Lux hair? I would need to darken it up a bit to an auburn shade. Any suggestions? I have an appt saturday to get my hair done! So I need a quick fix! Thanks....

I have colored the 24/613 mix to a darker shade of blonde, it has handled it well.  I did notice that the hair did feel a little "stretchy" after I rinsed the color off, but after it was dried it seem just fine.  I only used a 20 devlolper on it, I would be really leary on using a 30 or above because of the "stretchyness"  (is that even a word????)

Thanks for the info. I am thinking that I should only need to use a 10 or 15 volume because I am wanting to deposit only. I'd ideally like to bring it up a level so I don't think i need to "lift" anything. I'm just unsure of what "undertone to use to get a nice red. This hair is a light/medium honey brown-- definitely with GOLD undertones. I need it to pull more red. I guess I'll hope for the best!

I would suggest you use a red base,   The hair that I colored was very ashy, and I used a golden blonde and a copper mix, and I got some really nice color.    Good luck.

I used some semi-permanent on it, it worked wonderful, I had no problems at all.

I may have already posted this on anotehr thread...if so, forgive me, i haven't had my coffee yet ;)  I  usually end up color my hair and the extension hair to match.  I am a #4 but a very red #4.  I only use the Ion brnad LIQUID color from Sallys.  I used the creme once and it didn't go nearly as far as the liquid.  I use the #4RC and I LOVE it.  It comes out perfect everytime.  My hair always feel soft and silky, and the extension hair comes out beautifully too,  I also use the #20 sensative scalp developer.  I have gray to cover so it does a great job.  You can cut it 50/50 with h2o to get a 10 dev.  They have a ton of colors and tones too.  They are inexpensive too....whats not to love!  Ion also sells a conditioning treatment for after color care too, and I love that also.....No, Sally's does't pay me ;)

Thanks so much for all the help! I am wondering, though if a semi-permanent will fade on me? I dont want the gold in the hair to pop back out really bad. Will a red base semi-perm color hold for several weeks?

I'm with Asiannamom, I use the Ion brand at Sally's and really like it.

Misfitns, as for semi-perm, I would think that after a few washes the gold would pop thru, but I am not a proff, so don't quote me on it.

ONe thing that I have noticed and I am very, very unhappy with, it the quality of the shoelace tip for the D-lux hair.  I have had quite, like at least half of a 240 tip order, break down.  I am having to reheat and on some add more kerertin to the tip so it doesn't shedd like a *(*^&*^&*%&%!!!

It is slow going, and I want to get this hair into my friend soon!!!

Anyways, off to re-heat the tips!!

Yes-- I was thinking that a semi might do that....but maybe a demi perm would work better. Supposedly, it doesn't fade quite like a semi- perm.I used the ION brand last time on the Wagman hair and I realy liked how it turned out!

I have used semi permanent colors in the past and like them.  However, as I get more gray I noticed that they really were not lasting as long as I thought they were.  My grays would pop back out even after only a week.  The ion liquid perm. color lasts and lasts....I colored a couple weeks ago and still have no grays....
