Please Help!!!  My daughter has beautiful, thick blonde hair which we agreed to color BLACK for a summer production of "The King and I".  Is there any hope of returning it to a decent color by the end of September???  If so, how???

Her color must be in for about 2 weeks and must be semi-permanent so that it will not run onto her all white costume.  Is there any hope???

Offcourse you can:) BUT it will probely be a work in progress for a while, i would advise if you are doing this at home to make a "bleach bath" wich is mixing Powder Bleach, Developer, and shampoo and conditioner together in equal amounts, this will weary gently bleach the color out, please do a strand test first!:)
Here hair WILL get damaged, thats the price we pay for our beauty.

If you do it gradually , the first bleach bath may bring here to a darkbrown, or reddish colour. But its your choice, you can also just bleach the whole hair at once, but then she would need to get a decant cut aswell :/

My advise is the following:

Start in September with a bleach bath that will most likly take here hair to a auburn color, get a small trim for does damaged ends, then wait till here hair has grown as much as you cut off, bleach again to a strawberry blonde and trim some more.
Then maby in January use a mild toner to make here darkblond, and get some blonde highligths or full on blonde.

The point of trimming as basicly avoiding split ends and getting rid of the fryed hair... But you must find what fitt best for you guys:)

But would it not be easier and actually cheaper to invest in a Lace Front wig? the ones with the fake hair line, They can look SO real:)

They cost about 200-300 dollars, but it would be worth the investment, and your daugthers "Hair Health"

I'd suggest getting a wig. Coloring your hair black even with semi-permanent color is very difficult to get out of the hair.

GET A WIG!

I think it's ridiculous for them to even ask you to color her hair for a play! I'd go with the wig suggestion. If this was Hollywood and she was getting mega $$$, then maybe I'd go with the color.  Don't do it! You'll regret it!

Thanks for your responses!!  I am currently begging  the director for special consideration due to her blondeness...
It sounds as though they may be using a color that will wash out in 4-6 weeks.  This is not the same as semi permanent is it??  Does the director have his terms for kinds of color mixed up?

Does anyone know if Prell shampoo speeds up the removing process for color rinses?

4-6 weeks is semi-permanent color and DON'T ALLOW THEM TO DO IT! IT WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE REMOVED WITH COLOR REMOVER!

If a wig is not an option then a temporary rinse would be the next and only alternative!

Black Semi-permanent is a BITCH to get outta hair....take from me I'm a licensed HairStylist and the st00pid ass director isn't so tell him it's a wig or she doesn't perform....and go find someone else!
