hello! i have some hair color questions. my natural hair color is dark, dirty blonde. i have some light, cool blonde highlights on top. i want to change my hair color, like color it (with foils at a salon) to more of a single color (but maybe with some lighter highlights and darker lowlights for a little dimension). but the point is, i want to color the hair underneath as well as on top. my question is, i either want to go like a light blonde (like in this picture: http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/8745/gemmawithhatEQ5.jpg), a light brown (this picture: http://img417.imageshack.us/img417/4695/thewaythehairpartsFK1.jpg), or a dark brown (like in this picture: http://i5.tinypic.com/23w0gpj.jpg - http://i5.tinypic.com/23w0gpj.jpg ). i don't know what i will look best in or if it will turn out OK. my skin tone is a golden, peachy tan (i go out in the sun a lot, with SPF 35 though so don't worry! lol. i live in florida so i get a lot of color). so what color do you think i should go? i've always been blonde, so it'll be nice to have a change and go brunette, but if you guys think that will look weird, than i'll just go a lighter blonde. thanks in advance, kiki
P.S. sorry i dont have a picture, i know that would help, but my computers been rejecting my digital camera memory cards lately. its really quite frusturating. i cant upload my vacation pics darn technology!

My question to you is how do your cool blonde highlights on the top of your head look? If you like them, and they are flattering to your skin tone; then you could go blonder. Whenever I see dark, dirty blondes, I always want them to go lighter, but be careful that you don't go so platinum that it looks white. White/platinum only looks great on movie stars, I've never seen someone in real life that has white hair (who's not an old lady) that looks attractive.
It's hard to tell w/out a pic what your skintone would look like as a brunette. I think with your hair color, you could easily go blonder or darker, and look nice with both!! Maybe if you are thinking darker, you could try a semi-permanent color, and that will fade/rinse out after a month or so. That way you are not committed to any dark color like you would be with a permanent color.
Goodluck and have fun!! I'm always for change in hair colors!

I'm with you on that one. I had mine WAY too platinum last summer, but after I toned it down a bit it wasn't bad at all. I just got tired of doing my roots once a month. I'll stick with the light dirty blonde.

Since you're tan I'd stay in the warm tones. I've always liked the light brunette with carmel highlights look. It would never fly on me, though.

is this what you mean by light brunette w/ caramel?: http://i5.tinypic.com/244czgk.jpg - http://i5.tinypic.com/244czgk.jpg
oh and this is what my hair would look like if i went darker (thats not me but my hair style and texture is actually very similar to hers): http://i4.tinypic.com/244d27s.jpg - http://i4.tinypic.com/244d27s.jpg
what colors would you say these are?:

this is also a pretty color but i dont know how it would look on shorter hair (i love alessandras hair! its so pretty lol): http://imdb.com/gallery/granitz/3845/Alessandra_Mazur_6450011_400.jpg - http://imdb.com/gallery/granitz/3845/Alessandra_Mazur_6450011_400.jpg
more opinions would be great, thanks!

oh also i have blue eyes so im leaning toward the darker, cool brown with a few cooler, lighter highlights to really make them pop.

yes, i think im going to go with a darker base like in pic: http://i5.tinypic.com/23w0gpj.jpg - http://i5.tinypic.com/23w0gpj.jpg with highlights like ones alessandra has in this pic: http://i5.tinypic.com/244czgk.jpg - http://i5.tinypic.com/244czgk.jpg . highlights and lowlights really add dimension and can frame the face very well when done correctly, but sometimes can look trashy like you're deciding between multiple hair colors lol. i really don't want to look like kelly or nicole lol: http://ukcgalleries.com/photos/misc/Photo%20Shoots%20-%20Thankful/images/014.jpg - http://ukcgalleries.com/photos/misc/Photo%20Shoots%20-%20Thankful/images/014.jpg

I totally agree! I'm not a fan of the 'chunky' highlights. I prefer the natural looking ones, myself.
