Hey there,
I thought I'd share a few of my most recent pictures since it's been a few installs since the last posted about my hair.
Right now I've got a mix of everything packed in there almost like a nicely planned out vegetable garden- LOL. I've got D-LUX keratin tips, two short glued in D-LUX wefts, some Bohyme that I installed with some new fusion chips I'm trying out and a two new types of keratin tipped hair. I guess you could say I'm mulit-tasking with my comparisons. All the hair is 22" but I cut about 2" off the bottom and layered some of the hair around my face. Let me know if you have any questions. Sometimes my PM acts funky so if you need to email me anything please do so at mailto:Info@YourHairShop.com - Info@YourHairShop.com
I've got some clip-in M2/33 pieces in this first picture:
I'll post a few more pictures shortly, I'm just waiting to get them from the photographer

Hi ladies,
Thanks for all of your compliments . I put in random amounts of the different types of hair so I don't know exacty how much is in there. All together my best guess would be about 3- 4 ounces. I used to have to install about 5 ounces right after my breakage but my hair has grown out a lot so I don't need as much. I've got 40 pieces of the D-LUX keratin tipped hair in colors #D8A/14B and D5/14 and the rest was all done in #613. All the hair is silky straight and then I curl it with a curling iron. I find that even if I buy curly hair I always end up re-curling it to get the curl I want so It makes no difference to me to install the straight hair. Here's a picture I posted in a past thread showing how I curl it:

I do not use the lever on the iron at all. I simply point the curling iron down, place it about 3 inches away from my head and wrap a section of hair around it. Start wrapping the hair closest to the scalp so the ends are the last to be wrapped. See how I'm holding the end of my hair in my right hand? I find that leaving the last inch of hair out of the iron it helps give it a more natural curl vs. a tight spiral curl. I also wrap clockwise on my right side and counter-clockwise on my left (away from my face).
I installed everything on my myself, even the back. I use mirrors which helps A LOT. Below is a picture of one of my last installs. I've got a large mirror on the wall and then a small hand-held mirror that I hang from the ceiling. I took this picture facing my large mirror and you can see my little hanging mirror behind me in the reflection. I was working on my last row of that install which you can see in the small mirror.
So far my shedding has been normal (just a couple hairs when I brush it). I've only had this in for about 2 weeks though so it will take a few more weeks to really know how good the new bonds are. I wash my hair once every 3-4 days and use the Purology Hydrating line of shampoos and conditioners on it which helps keep it looking and feeling lovely.
I'll let you know how I like the new bonds I'm trying... I'm always on the look out for bigger-better products. I appreciate any feedback you have for me on any of our products so that I can make changes when necessary. Please email any feedback to mailto:Info@YourHairShop.com - Info@YourHairShop.com so I am sure to get it. If you have any new product ideas I'd also like to know about them too
If you have any more questions about my install fire away

Kristin, you say so far your shedding has been normal, just a couple of hairs? Unfortunately my shedding is FAR from normal. I get brushfuls with every brushing. And random stray hairs shedding all day long. I really really hope this shedding slows down. Ive wore hair before that shed alot for about the first week and then just sort of stopped or slowed down to a minimum, hopefully this will be the case with the Dlux. I dont want to put this hair down, or make it seem bad, because it is very pretty hair and holds curl beautifully, but the shedding so far is nuts!

Kristin, I love the color of your hair! Wish I could be blonde like that... .
Anyway, I saw your mirror set-up and that makes sense, but is it easier to install microrings by yourself or fusion? How do you keep from burning scalp and fingers? I really want to learn to do this... I love being creative and I feel a little lost here. [:s
Sherrie gave me good info on pro tac, but I'd really like to continue with strand by strand... .

Wow...that really does look awesome! I just had my D-Lux installed ( 22 inch) last week with the pinchbraid method...so I can say that I do not get ANY shedding with that method. I love my pinchbraids.... However, I am not used to straight hair at all...and I hate the way it looks without curling it. I read somewhere that this hair is somewhat wavy when it dries...but not my batch, at least-- It is surely straight! My own hair is shoulder length and fine/wavy...so my layers seem to poke through when this hair isnt curled. I am the lead singer in a band so when I curl it, it doesnt last through the end of the night with the hot lights and me sweating bullets. I am trying to figure a way to make the curl last...any suggestions at all? I curl it with a tourmaline curling iron and it looks lovely as long as I don't get on that damn stage! Would hot rollers hold longer? Maybe a setting lotion will help?

Sherrie- I installed them with Liquid Gold so I don't know if that bonding method makes any difference or not. You've installed with Liquid Gold in the past so you may know- does the glue change anything to do with the shedding? I've only got two strips of the wefts in which are each about 4" long so I'm no where near the 12oz you've got installed. I would assume that the more hair you have in the more shedding you would encounter but if you're having a lot as you say this would not be normal. I just parted back my hair to just reveal the wefts and I put my fingers through them checking for shedding and I'm finding that the cut ends are giving off a few hairs... should I have sealed the cut ends with nail glue? It's been a long time since I had wefts in so I forgot to seal the ends. Did you seal the cut ends? btw, what were your results with the free full pack of 18" #613 on weft that I sent you a couple months ago? I sent it to you free of charge so you could try it out before you bought any hair from us and I was assuming that you must have liked it if you ordered more. If you found them to be different please let me know. I sent my distributer an email last night with some questions about wefts and shedding so I should hear back shortly. Please keep me posted Sherrie
Nikkie- IMO the microlinks are the easiest of any of the extension systems especially when you are doing them on yourself. I like the microlink sysytem but as I'm sure you know it's normal to lose a few while you wear them. Although it's really easy to pop them back in I prefer the fusion because it's rare for me to lose any bonds during wear. The first couple fusion pieces I install in the back of my head are always a bit awkward but then I get used to looking in the mirror and it's smooth salin' after that. Always use a template when installing fusion so you don't burn your scalp. I always move really slow at the start so I can tell when I'm moving my wand in the wrong direction- this helps me to avoid burining my fingers.

msfitnes- that's awesome! Do you have any pictures of your hair? I use a 1" connair silver curling iron (shown in one of my above pictures) and it works great. I will usually curl my hair after it's washed and it stays curly until I wash it again. The curl that was in my hair in the first pictures above were actually curled the day before these pictures were taken. I touched up about 4-5 curls around my face that were my natural hair but that's it. Oh, the dark clip-ins were new though so I curled those right before the shoot.

Thanks, Kristen. I will take some new photos tomorrow when I wash and style again. I think the problem is the profuse sweating onstage....and I mean SWEATING. I am drenched and so is half my hair by the end of the first set! So my natural hair starts to curl and "pouf" while the extension hair gets straighter! * UGH!* Everyone tells me it looks great...so I am probably the only one so critical of it...I have never worn hair this long either..so blending was a bit more challenging. I have alot of fine layers. I am trying to figure a way to make it last onstage...do you use any styling product before you curl?

thanks for your response Kristin. The 18 inch is on my head now along with the 22 inch that I purchased. The 18 inch was not long enough for my length nor enough hair with 4 ounces to do a full install, and that is the only way in my opinion to get a true test. Im just NOW finding the time to test your Dlux
You shouldnt have to seal the ends of machine wefts. And yes LG will help a little with shedding but its not the cure. It wont stop excessive shedding. Its only been a week, so the shedding may stop or slow down. But it is def. an issue in my opinion.
When I wear Bohyme it usually sheds like a big dog for about the first week or two, and then stops/slows to a minimum. So that may be the case with this hair.
I recommend that anyone who uses Bohyme to seal the wefts, the entire weft with Aleenes Stop Fraying. Its an easy fix honestly, and a small price to pay if you find good quality hair. Which is very difficult to find in the lighter colors.
So even with the shedding that I am experiencing, I still like this hair so far. It looks good, curls well and holds the curl which as BIG PLUSES in my book!

not a problem Kristin, the Aleenes Stop Fraying is actually a product used for fabric, and you can find it in any fabric store, craft store or anywhere that you can buy sewing or craft supplies. Its a glue that is similar in consistancy to Elmers glue. You work in samll sections applying the glue and using an orange stick to push the glue into the weft, let it dry flip the weft over and do both sides. If you push the glue into the weft you get a good seal. The Aleenes dries in about an hour, but it takes 5 days to cure before you should get it wet. The wefts will dry flexible, unlike some other adhesives that dry stiff.

yes I believe so, I use machine wefts and sealing wefts is a relatively new DIYer task that I learned from Divavocals. I dont have much experience with handtied wefts, so maybe Divavocals will better advise on that question. Or i will ask her and give you the answer.

Hey M, I'm also a lead singer and wore the straight hair on stage as well though my own is a bit wavy. True, it's just us: everyone else thinks it's totally invisible . However when I washed it it got tiny little waves and it made it look a bit more ROCK AND ROLL!! I'll post some pics of it later on. Yes the sweat is incredible, but don't we look good??!! LOL
Believe me it looks gooooood so don't worry about it...

Kristen, thanks for the tips... I'm a bit less scared now and I hope to buy hair and stuff from you soon. Only thing is that I still doubt what to get: straight or bodywave
My hair is neither here nor there LOL. It's pretty straight on top and towards the bottom it gets wavy, so I'm worried about the wavy part sticking out of straight extensions...

can you get an idea with a color ring?
I have straight hair that gets curly w/ humidity, but it doesn't look nice.
I iron my hair+ extensions and there's no difference in texture.
Since you like "big hair" though, maybe you'd like bodywave better?!

Darling Niikki-- I really think you should go with bodywave....mostly because you will be onstage, like myself, alot. I'm telling ya girl....this hair holds curl really well...but NOT when you are flinging it around and sweating profusely. It goes right back to being straight. I think alot of it must be the humidity. I am in NC....so that may be why it won't hold long. I curled it yesterday, went jogging late afternoon and every curl was GONE. Don't get me wrong-- the hair is nice....it's just pretty straight and if your hair has a bit of body ( yours sounds identical to mine-- straight on top...gets wavy on the ends) then go for the bodywave hair girlfriend. You will be curling this hair constantly. I personally like "get up and go" hair. Most bodywave hair also drops some of the wave after it's been washed several times so you still have the "body" in it....but it won't be too curly. Also -- another thing to factor in is the origin of the hair. I have realized that Indian/Italian hair "processed" as silky sraight will generally have some wave to it still. But if it's Asian ( D-Lux hair is)....silky straight is pretty straight and coarse. The good thing is that Asian hair is pretty durable to abuse ( heat styling) because of it's texture so it should last quite awhile.

If you want ROCK N ROLL hair-- go for Deluxe Indian Natural Body hair. I wore that last install that I got from Wagman Primus and my hair was big and totally ROCKED OUT!! lol...I had too much hair installed for my taste that time....but I barely had to style the hair, it had so much body and pump to it! After I got used to the volume of hair, it was cool.... I looked like Tawny Kitaen-- the chick in the old Tom Hanks movie "Bachelor Party." Big Glam chick hair....lol

Maybe I should have been more patient with my last install. It was Indian remy bodywave... maybe I should have it longer. I keep hearing all this good stuff about Bohyme and d-lux, though. They say it's real soft and stuff....
But your advice sounds good...
So, what kind of music are you into?

Nikki-- I sing in an all 80's cover band in Charlotte, NC. We do everything from pop to glam rock. My forte is definitely the harder rock stuff...like Van Halen, Billy Idol, and Kiss. I LOSE myself singing that stuff...LOL.. Don't get me wrong on the D-Lux hair. It is nice quality....doesn't tangle or mat.. and it doesn't LOOK dry or coarse...but IMO, it is coarser than the Indian hair I wore. Asian hair shafts are thicker in diameter than Indian or Euro hair...which leads to a coarser feel I suppose? For some reason, when it's curled, it feels softer...but as soon as the curl drops out, it has that straight coarse feel again. Sort of odd.... I am wondering if those on the west coast have better luck with curls holding? I am almost convinced it is the humidity here. I hear that Bohyme is great too. I get tempted to try it...but my stylist HATES it....so she has influenced me just a bit against trying it.

Last time I bought Indian Remy on the net. When it arrived it was all soft. They put oil on it for safe travelling. After I gave it a wash it became a bit "jumpy", you know, like the hairs all sort of separated and didn't form a wavy togetherness. Don't get me wrong: it looked quite beautiful, but a bit boring.
Their colors are all dark. I still have a lot of it left- the install that I did came out too easy: my fault and I've learned . There just wasn't enough glue on the tips. I pre tipped them myself, but not enough. Luckily I managed to save almost all of them, so I can use them again.
I had no idea that d-lux is Asian hair. Everybody seems to love Bohyme though... . I'd love to try it.

Hey Nikkie, Msfitnes is right the Body wave does fall after it's washed a couple times (I don't know of any body wave that doesn't). If you want something between the pictured Bodywave and the straight hair you would like the Bodywave after it's been washed.

I believe with Wagman-- you have to order a pound at a time. Before the price increase, I think I got a pound for like 280.00 ( I think it was around that price). The reason I quit wearing it is because I wear pinch braids...and it takes a good 2-3 inches of length for the pinchbraid to be created...so you lose that length in the hair. They only go to 24 inches ( Wagman) and I'm afraid after a trim, it won't be long enough. Their hair is also single drawn-- meaning it has some shorter hairs in with the bundles/wefts too. So once installed, although single drawn gives you a nice "natural" look because all the hairs aren't all ONE length....it created a problem with my pinchbraids being too "piecy" and straggly at the ends. I had to trim a bit to get a good look. This wouldn't be a problem if I didn't want to wear such long length. But you know how that goes..."LONGER! LONGER!" It's like getting a little "cosmetic" surgery....and then you become a junkie....lol. This D-Lux hair is thick throughout to the ends....so I DO like that fact. We just razor it up a bit to blend. It is just more coarse than the Indian hair. Not like a nappy, damaged texture--- just really coarse....you know-- like an Asian's hair! LOL... Kristen-- will you ever carry the bodywave D-Lux on wefts? I would love to try some.
Also-- how do I post pics on here?

Hi ladies! You are all so sweet! I really appreciate the compliments
We will soon be carrying the D-LUX Bodywave wefts and also smaller quantities of the keratin tips. It will be a couple months though until we get them in.
