My first go-round with D-Lux u-tips/fusion was terrific. Long lasting bonds, no shedding, hair never tangled etc. etc. I was so excited to find such a great fusion product.
Now the fun begins - the next two purchases were a living nightmare. Shedding, crumbling bonds, hair out within 2 weeks - NOTHING like the first hair.
I've tried everything I can think of to make sure it was not aproblem on my end, washing hair with distilled water, using only sulfate-free products, pre-washing my hair several times before application - you name it. I've been wearing extensions for 8 years now - I know the drill & am very careful with them.
This last time was the worst - I've got about 20 extensions left in that are mostly just a little bond with a few hairs hanging off.
I've worn fusion bonds for years - so it's not like my hair isn't cooperating.
I don't want to do pro-tac or shrinkies & really want to stick with fusion tips. I've also had great lengths & so-cap without any issues - just don't want to pay that kind of $$ for something I can do myself.
Any ideas??? Anyone try the bohyme U-tips? HELP!!!!

Every price I can find for the Bohyme pretips is absolutely
outrageous. You can't beat the D-lux hair for the quality and
value. Mine didn't fall out at all, so I'm not sure what is going
on. The last fusion install I did was on a friend, and I used the
melting pot method meaning I melted some glue pieces in a pot (they are
cheap to order, about 10 bucks) and cut the hair from a weft, dipped,
and applied. I used the jetset glue disks, and honestly they
weren't all that. The glue was very dry and crumbly, so I
wouldn't suggest them. They have stayed in overall, but there are
more bonds lost than average so I wouldn't use them again. Maybe
try some glue from a few different suppliers with the D-lux weft hair?
Also, for strand by strand staying power I LOVE silicone
microrings. They are honestly the most awesome things on earth
:-D What color is your hair, I have some extra black and some
blonde, I could mail you a few to try. I've tried almost every
strand method, fusion was my second favorite.
------------- Wearing 22" 8oz Tease I tips installed with silicone microrings.

Hi Hulamon,
Well, sorry to hear that.
It is so frustrating when you feel like you can't rely on the quality of a product !
My guess is that it is probably the hair you've ordered that has changed, not you or your methods.
Maybe the company decided to use a cheaper glue to seal the hair and that is why it doesn't last that much anymore.
Have you tried to email the customer service ? They probably won't admit it if they use a cheaper glue anyway!..
I have been doing fusion for years, and what I do is I buy the hair wefted, I cut it and glue it myself with hard glue, Loctite. It holds great and almost no shedding. I don't understand why people don't do that. Once is dried it won't go on your hair. And then I use a keratin glue to connect to my hair. By buying your own fusion chips at least you won't be bothered by these problems. I don't know the silicone microrings but it looks like an interesting method too. Good luck!

Hi lthere,
I'm sorry to hear your hair is shedding Hulamom. I have not changed anything to do with my manufacturer or the way I order our products. I would NEVER change a product or the way it is made and try to pass it off as the same thing... that's business sucide! Bottom line- you can always be sure we would never use 'cheaper' products- N-E-V-E-R. Nothing changed with the way I order, what I order, or who I order from. I have made my manufacturer aware that I have heard some feedback of shedding and they are working to solve anything that may be wrong. I've carried this hair for about a year now and it seems that only in the past month have I heard of any shedding. I installed some of this recent batch of hair on myself and I am personally doing some quality control testing on it. From what it sounds like, some of the bonds may not have mixed right because I've contacted a couple of my clients along with a couple of friends wearing this hair and only one told me she was shedding. For now I suggest if you use our pre-tipped hair to put a drop of nail glue right where the bond meets the hair to ensure that you do not experience shedding. I'm sorry for any shedding you may have and I am doing what I can to figure out why some people have experienced this and others have not. The past three installs I've had with D-LUX have had ZERO shedding and I can assure you that with our quality control this will be fixed even if I have to send everything back to be re-tipped.
Our next shippment of hair is scheduled to come in stock in about 3-4 weeks and I have been assured that the hair will be exactly like it was at day one. I would also like anyone who has experienced any shedding to email me the name they ordered under along with the color and style of hair they ordred so that I can send them a bundle from our next shippment for free so they can re-try this hair and see how they like it. Our email address is mailto:Info@YourHairShop.com - Info@YourHairShop.com
If anyone ever has a problem, comment, or concern with any company I suggest you email them and let them know-- without you telling them you are having a problem they may never know about it. I haven't been on HairTalk in ages and if I hadn't randomly checked it out I never would have known there was any shedding. Feedback, both good and bad, is extremely important for any company to keep up with their consumers. We strive to offer you quality products at a quality price with quick shipping and no nonsence. Please always come to us with any concerns.
Thank you for listening,
Kristin

Kristin,
I think you are a super businesswoman...and a beautiful one but that's beside the point . You take exellent care of your customers and I think you should be rewarded for that .
Someone told me that the d-lux hair is Asian and feels course... is that true?
From what I can see I think it looks amazing though!

Just a follow-up -
I did email Kristen this morning. I have always been impressed with the service at YourHairshop.com & as you all can see, she does really look into any customer service issues. I'm hoping that I can resume using D-Lux as I absolutely loved it the first time & it was a great match for me.
Big thanks to Kristen for her efforts on the board

I LOVE d-lux hair, but I also had a problem with shedding. That was my only problem with it, everything else was unbelievable about it. It's soft and silky no matter what I do to it!
What I did find is when I took the i-tips out, I re-melted them and re-shaped them (like i usually do to re-install them) and after that, I had very little shedding.
I think like Kristin said it's possibly something with the mixing of it or something. I hope the problem will be resolved soon, it's honestly my top pick in hair.
Oh and Nikkie--It's not coarse, it has a nice texture, but it doesn't feel like asian hair.

I just took out some D-Lux U-tips to have my hair colored after wearing them for about 5 weeks. There was no shedding and the bonds and the hair could easily have lasted alot longer, and that was the first time I've ever tried fusion, and I installed them myself!

I so agree with you!!
The D-LUX hair is gorgeous - it wears well & I never had any issues with the 1st install for >8 weeks - no tangling, just beautiful & shiny.
I loved it so much I kept on hoping it was ME screwing up & it would eventually work out. I have thin, fine hair and it's a nice match for me, texture wise.
Just to reiterate what I said about Kristen & Yourhairshop.com earlier - She's emailed me several times & has been ABSOLUTELY terrific about resolving this.
If more companies/owners took as much pride in their products & customer service - we'd no longer have a need for this board! Hats off to Kristen & her commitment to doing the right thing. She's not only earned my respect, but my business for a long time to come.
