HI, my name is Jen and I have very thick and very course curly hair.  Well actually, my hair is strait in front and super curly in back so you see my dilema.

I dont know what to do with it.  I wear it up everyday because if I leave it down it looks rediculous and huge!

I cant seem to find a cut to fit me and I also want to straiten my hair. i've tried flat irons and it just makes my hair kinky.

AAARRRGGGGG!!!

Can someone help me!!!

Why is it straight in the front and super curly in the back?  Is it because you do something with it when its wet, had uneven chemical treatment, have layers someplace and not the other, etc.?  What kind of hairstyle do you want (besides straight), long?  Short?  How is it cut currently?

Hi Jen...welcome to HairBoutique.com.

Hey Susan....great minds think alike.  Before I read your response I was thinking....hmmmm I wonder if she had her hair chemically treated and it grew back curly except the front or the back.  :-)

Yes Jen...please give us more details.

In the meantime what I would suggest is that since the bangs don't match the rest of the hair, to use a curling iron to match the texture OR use the cool bandeau headbands and pull the straight part of the hair up and off the forehead and hold in place with the bandeau.  Of course clips works well and barrettes and cute bobbies.

To try and alter the natural curls would be a LOT of work plus the fact that the current trend in hair fashion is to embrace and promote your own natural texture.  It not only looks cool but it saves the wear and tear on your own hair.

Of course more details would help immensely.
