On august 24, I am going to my hairdresser. My hair right now is 1 1/2 inches below my shoulders. It is very thick and curly.I try to update a picture but it didn't show up to show you my hair and face.  I will like a new style I am not sure weather to cut or trim it.  The last time I cut my hair was this past June.I am ready for a change.  I had the same style for the past 10 years. In June I only trim it. Usually I am ready to take the plunge and chopped it, and  I get to the hairdresser and change my mind at the last minute.  I know I want to get the bulkiness off.If anybody has any suggestion I ready appreciated it. I will take everybody suggestion into consideration.

If it's very thick and curly, it might become an afro when you cut it.  Good on some people, traumatic for others.  If you're not into afros, you have to be careful to keep it either long enough or short enough that it doesn't become like that.

It's all in the styling.  My wife has thick curly hair and has worn it long, medium, short, and ultra-short.  Great things can be done with a round brush and a blow dryer.  Your stylist should be able to teach you how to style whatever style you decide on.

I'm with babycheeks on this one. Long layers is a great way to go for your first style change. Different, but not too traumatic. Blow dry it straitght and you will love it!

Thankyou for the suggestions. On the 24th I went to the hairdresser and I cut it about an inch and I have it layer all over instead of just the top.
