Hiya,

I have an appointment tomorrow to get a toner put on my hair because my highlights went yellow and the toner will make them go whiter blonde.

Basically, I think its where you put the opposite colour on, to what you have got and it sort of cancels out the colour you dont want, i.e. tones it down for example to your desired colour.

Mark.

Recently I went from black back to my natural dark blonde color which has left me with some orange streaks. So I used L'oreal tone refiner to calm down the orange.. Worked pretty good and I want to use it again but don't know is it damaging to your hair and how often can it be used..

a toner is a semi or demi permanent color that  can alter  the  "tone" of the  hair  you can  make your color darker or less have warmth or you can warm up the color if its too cool.. and it slowly fades, but usually adds great shine..

You should always ONLY have your new growth bleached, never bleach the length and yes, use a toner over it all if you so choose. You never need to take a break from bleaching if you're doing it properly.
