Hi ladies!!!

I am new to this forum.  I see some familiar chicks from BBBH.  The info is extremely informative.  You ladies know your hair.

Quick hair bio: On my hair journey since February 2005.  I went natural for one year.  I initially transitioned by wearing braids.  A few months later, I wore cornrows with a plastic cap, underneath a wig.  In March 2006, I relaxed.  I stretch relaxers for 3 mths at a time.

Went from a teeny weeny afro and now my hair is currently about 2 or 3 inches past my shoulders.  Journey has been quite educational and sometimes frustrating, but overall very rewarding.

Got a question: I am currently on 7 weeks post-relaxer.  The last two relaxers did not take fully and now I have hair that is seriously underprocessed.  I have a lot of new growth and in the middle, I am experiencing matting.  The matted hair is not so much in the roots, it is further down in the middle of the strands, where the underprocessed parts are.

I wash every 3 or 4 days, however, now I may have to wash more often.

Regimen: I HAVE 4B COARSE HAIR MOSTLY AND 4A AROUND ALL EDGES

1. Prepoo w/coconut milk,

2. Co-wash w/hair in 4 or 6 scrunchies
(conditioners: Nexxus Humecto, Garnier Fortifier, or ORS replenish pak)
I detangle in shower w/a shower comb
I let the water pressure do most of the detangling

3. Deep condition once a week (with or w/o heat, just depends)
(LeKlair Mango or Carrot Cholestorel, hot oil, or Roux moisture pak)
Protein only when needed.

4. Leave-ins/Moisturizers: NTM Silk, S-Curl

5. Ends: Profectiv or WGO

6. I love jojoba, coconut oil or WGO as sealants (depends on my stock)

7. I love peppermint oil for stimulation on scalp (haven't in a while though)

8. I bun 100% most of the time, and I sleep in satin scarf - w/baggie

9. I only shampoo when scalp is itchy or every two weeks
(but my ends are protected w/condtioner or WGO)

10.  I clarify only when I detect build-up (Recently did it for the first time)

11. Do not comb it unless on wash days.

12. I apply moisturizer and oil twice a day and simply fingercomb to bun it back up.

Based on products and regimen, what do you ladies think I am doing wrong?  Why is my hair matting like this?  Is it the underprocessing?  Is it time to relax?

Thanks in advance,

LadyEsquire

One thing i would suggest is to drop the Garnier product too much alcohol in their products. i don't know at what point you are using it in your regime, but after all the moisturizing and stuff putting the Garnier undos it all.
