Hey. I was wondering how to get my hair like Lenny Kravitz in this picture -->

http://gallery.hairboutique.com/details.asp?ID=8978

Before you ask questions my skin tone is like Lenny's as well as my facial features. My hair is pretty long but it is one of those fros shaped like a ball which I don't like. I have also asked people how it would look on me and they said it would look awesome so that should answer just about all questions.
Oh. also my hair is really curly and not extremely nappy considering I'm half and half. Any help will be appreciated since I have been looking all over and I still have no clue how to get this style.

It looks like that is his natural hair texture from a shake 'n' go, meaning he washed his hair, shook it out and left it to dry like that.  Some people can get that style by banding sections of their hair with ouchless bands.  Remember, the way someone looks does not guarantee that one will have a certain texture.  IF you are looking for way to get your curls to pop, you can check out the curls section on here, or http://www.naturallycurly.com/ - http://www.naturallycurly.com/

Shoot, there are people would kill to have your curls!  Do you use any styling products, like gels?  Try it on either wet or dry hair, and see if you can elongate the pattern with your hands.  Have you tried using a pik at all?

I have tried picking it out but it only turns into one of those fros that you see in those 1970's movies
I have also tried gel on dry hair but it looks outrageous but I haven't used it on wet hair.
That method of just shaking my wet hair works but it just curls to tight. My hair might also just not be long enough. It's 3 in.
Are there any shampoos or conditioners that loosen the curls but doesn't straighten them? Because that would be perfect.

I do not know of any shampoos or conditioners that do that, but their are products that claim to weigh down curls but they cost far too much.  Kravitz's hair looks to be about 5 inches long, so you should wait until you get for more length, and remember, your texture could elongated a little as it gets longer, so no cutting.  This is the time to embrace and get to know your hair in the meantime...have some fun experimenting!
