Every time the beginning of the school year starts, I start off with single braids for many more reaons than 1. But I'm still not sure how to wash them w/o having them look a horrible mess afterwards. Also, I spend the rest of the school year repairing the damage that the braids caused such as the pulling out of my edges and the excessive dryness of my ends from not getting enough moisture. And by the time my hair is fully back to its original health; what do you know, its the beginning of another school year, and here comes even more braids. (Yes I kno , its horrible) But Neways, can someone teach me the proper way of taking care of my braids?

Do you use braid sprays to keep the moisture? How long do you keep your braids in? Have you thought about using seebreeze or a no rinse scalp cleanser? I use that when I have braids in but I only keep my braids in for a month and a half and I don't get them done real tight.

o0o i leave my braids in for about 2 months and the reason that i dont wash them is because they always end up looking bad afterwards. and no matter how much spray i put in it. the ends always end up being dry

Here is a good site that helps you learn how to wash your braids while you have them. Also, the lady provides a quick film to show you what to do.

Well I agree with sugarcube, oiling is important. But if you don't want to wash them at least try to find a no rinse cleanser or run seebreeze through your scalp with a cotton ball or sponge
