Hey everyone I have a problem, when I relax my hair with no lye relaxer my hair was straight, but dry. When I used Lyr relaxer twice (from different brands and strenths) it left my hair soft but underprocessed, my new growth wasn't straight at all it was slightly wavy.

Ok this what I did for the no-lye.

I used Botanicals, normal, after I rinsed out the relaxer and neutralized, I apllied leave-in conditioner and I used TCB Wrap Lotion, my hair came out stright but dry. I'm not sure it was TCB wrap lotion that caused the dryness or the relaxer. My mother and I used the wrap lotion a feww weeks later and it left my hair dry.

A couple of months later I used Mazani course relaxer and it left my hair somewhat soft but severly underprocessed, I used alot of relaxer on my hair and I smoothed over my hair multiple time, I left it on for about 20-25 minutes and still it was wavy.

a couple of months after that I used Ramoni Creme Relaxer http://ramoni.ca/professionalDetail.asp?ID=18 - http://ramoni.ca/professionalDetail.asp?ID=18  (Canadian product if you're wondering) and my hair is incredibly soft but my new growth is slight wavy in the  crown area but straight in the back. I used normal/regular strength, I left it on for about 25 minutes and I used alot of relaxer on my hair.

so has anyone had this type of problem, how did you handle it?

I'm thinking my hair doesn't do well with lye relaxer in terms of straightening power, so I don't know what to do.

I feel for you. I know when I used to use a home relaxer it would leave my hair dry but what I did was after the shampoo I would use a Deep moisturizing Conditioner and nice silky leave-in. I would let my hair air dry a bit before I blow dried it and used  At one 3-in-one thermal protectant foam along with a little oil and blow dried. No Dry hair!

Thanks, I will try using a deep treatment for next time, but I still don't know if I should use lye or no lye. I am leaning more towards lye because it leaves my hair soft but the under process thing is really bugging me.

No lye is suppose to be safer for your hair and your head, because the chemical lye is so strong. But it is your choice in the matter.

thank ladykaya, I am beginning to think that my hair just does not like relaxers. Everytime I get one my hair ends up being poofy in a matter of days/weeks  and it ends up not looking relaxed anymore, lol.
