Looks like this new site http://dghair.com/ - http://dghair.com stole one of Aphrodite's pictures among others (looks like pics I've seen on IndanHairs.com are being used too).. Check this out:
Aphrodite's site: http://aphroditessalon.com/detailpage.asp?ID=1830&Category=Online%20Store - http://aphroditessalon.com/detailpage.asp?ID=1830&Category=Online%20Store
DreamGirl's site:
http://www.dghair.com/typesofhair.htm - http://www.dghair.com/typesofhair.htm
I found this site when someone asked about it on BHM

I don't understand why folks can take their own pictures..

This really infuriates me, I've just recently had to tell a girl who also advertises on ebay to take my client pictures off her hair extension advert, what I couldn't believe is she is actually selling her hair extension service as well as me on ebay and had the cheek to use my pictures, I mean as if I wouldn't notice! x

That was MY picture originally. I had sent it to Aphrodite's to
use with my permission. But our deal fell through and I let her keep
using the picture.
I don't use that picture I didn't think it was that great. It's Wagman's hair.
I have had a lot of pictures stolen on ebay, then I got a code to use that others can't right click. http://www.copy-not.com - http://www.copy-not.com
It works pretty good. You have to add the code you generate to the end of your HTML.

BTW, most of those scripts don't really stop anyone from stealing your pics from your website if they really want 'em.. There's TONS of other way to yank content off of a website. So if someone wants to steal your pics and other contenet, they really can.. Watermarking Pics is really the better way to protect your pictures.. Properly place watermarks can render the pics useless to would be theives. The way I watermark my pics you would damn near have to destroy the picture just to remove the watermark..

one of my pics after the watermark is removed (provided they were able
to remove it) is to spend some time with a good photo editor fillin' in
the blanks..

HI! Nobody likes having photos stolen! Sooo, if anyone wants a "watermark" thingy, I know of a great FREE (unlike photoshop!) program (I use it myself). It's called the GIMP, and you can do WAY more than just add translucent layers :)!!!!!!!! Here is the link; http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html - http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html (please note, I assumed most of you use M$ Windows as your OS, if not, look around they laos have it for LINUX!) You'll need to download both the first one and either the 2nd or 3rd (depending on your version of windows!) Good luck :D ~~Meow
EDIT: I'm not saying this program is BETTER! than ones you can pay for, I'm just saying it works VERY well for me! :( not to mention saving me over $500.00 for a program similar to Photoshop! plus you can use GIMP with Linux

Perhaps I should state that not everyone needs Photoshop for photo editing.. Windows has decent enough tools to add watermarks to photos is need be , but this is what I use because I have this tool.. (and I was asked what did I do to protect my photos.. so I answered in kind..)
Gimp is okay if you don't need a professional level graphic editing software like Photoshop (which I need for my business).. However, I found that Gimp is not very end-user friendly nor is it always stable.. To protect photos you don't really need much more than translucent layers to watermark 'em.. Photo theives just need to be prevented from editing your photos for their own use, and a few well placed watermarks will do the trick nicely..
Speaking of free... I did see that the site Gerrigirl posted has a pretty cool FREE web-based watermarking script.. ( http://www.copy-not.com/wmark/ - http://www.copy-not.com/wmark/ I still prefer to use multiple watermarks on my pics to ensure that picture theives can't simply edit out the watermark without compromising the picture beyond usefulness, but this script will do a pretty good job of watermarking pics in a pinch.. Only catch is that it will not work with .png or .gif files..

Speaking of stealing pictures. I've just found this girl in the UK advertising her hair extension service under item number 120030752095, if you click on her website and then her before and after pictures, it appears I'm in fact competing against her on http://www.hairextensionguide.com - www.hairextensionguide.com and not someone from Hair Angels in Texas !

No, sorry guys, I probably should have been a bit clearer. I have no doubt that picture on the extension guide is authentic, its more like the person that's advertising on ebay has lifted it from there and is claiming it as her own xx

the Sweetest girl. I saw her work on her website and sent her an email
once because her work looked sooo good. She actually called me back and
we got to talk a bit. Super Sweet!!! I can try to find her email or
website if no one has already. It may be on the Hairextensionguide.com
website.

If you check on the bottom of "The Hair Room" gallery, she says, "Some pictures are Property of http://www.HairAngel.net - www.HairAngel.net which are copyright." It doesn't say whether they're used with permission. I would assume they're not. I wouldn't go to an extensionist that posted someone else's work on their before/after page. *sheesh*

Oh. I didn't even see that, monsterita. The page loaded in such a way that it didn't seem there was anything on the bottom. Wonder what the story is on that.
Site content is copyright, too. What's funny (in not a "haha" way) is seeing entire sections of content lifted from someone's site and put on another one and then the stealer puts a copyright symbol next to it. Now that takes some cajones.

I don't understand why folks can take their own pictures..

I bought a bunch of stock photos for my site (models) and have copied pictures of supplies from websites that I have purchased from. Why? I am the worst photographer. I always get permission to copy photo's of their products that I am selling. I would never take pictures and claim them for my own work though. Mabey that person asked Laura if it was ok to use the pictures.

Nothing wrong with that in my book. So long as the pictures are obtained legally or with the owners permission.. I used stock photos on Sherrie's site too.. We wanted nice pictures of hair for the site. No time or budget for models and photo shoots!!

Nope.. they didn't ask Laura.. The site was brought to my attention by a friend of mine who knows the site owner and also knew I was acquainted with Laura.. He knew the picture was taken without permission and wanted to let me know so I could tell Laura.. I wanted to let ladies here know in case anyone wanted to buy from this guy..
I already spoke to Laura.. I gave her the scoop on this guy.. I hope she contacts him and works it out..

I can't get my breath, someone has lifted text straight from my site yet again, I could understand it but its two huge word for word personal paragraphs!!!!!!! I'm fuming. AND its the same fricking person who stole some of my pictures to advertise her hair extension service on ebay. I can't believe the cheek of this person!x

Same thing happened to me, Amanda, right down to punctuation and with the same words in quotes. I completely understand how you feel and you have every right to be angry. Is this person profiting off your copyright material? Email me the site when you get the chance & I have a suggestion to help thwart this.

Hi I would like to inform that I had my pictures lost by someone who was supposed to be designing my website for me. I then decided to go through moonfruit and try to design my own web site. I searched for some pictures from a non uk site to not interfere with any one here. I asked nicole from www.hairangel.net if it would be ok for me to use her pictures as examples until I get new ones and she kindly agreed. Please e-mail her if any body wants clarification on this. I put copyright so Nicoles pictures do not get used by everyone. I have been receiving obscene e-mails from someone on this forum and the bad taste threatening and swearing in the content is to bad to repeat. I would just like to let everyone know I am a single mother just trying to make a living like everybody else. Many thanks Michelle

Fair enough Michelle but I would rather have no pictures than use someone elses, when I looked at your advert on ebay I thought you were that good I actually contemplated asking you to do my extensions to give my own hands a rest for once. I never even noticed that that wasn't your work so in my opinion it is very misleading. Obviously if your standard of work is as good as Nicolle's then there's no problem but if it isn't I'd be worried when clients come as that is what they will be expecting. Speaking honestly chick, a lot of people who see that you are advertising your extensions with someone else's work whether you say its theres or not won't come to you, I hope that doesn't sound mean but like you say we are all trying to make a living and I'm trying to help you there and give you a bit of advice.
Nicolle actually e-mailed me and clarified the point that she had given you permission but as she didn't post it on this board I didn't either out of respect to her. As you will learn unfortunately the extension business is a very competitive and bitchy business, but the good ones tend to stick together and watch each other's backs.
On this occasion you are totally in the right with what you've done and I apologise for bringing up the matter but as permission isn't normally given I jumped straight in and defended her work. I really should have read the small print. I certainly don't know why someone has sent you horrible e-mails that can't be repeated. I don't agree with that.
