Good morning everyone ! I was just wondering if anyone has used or knows anything about this "Olive oil replenishing pak" from Wal-Mart? It says its a "deep penetrating conditioner, helps restore moisture and rebuild damaged hair". You comb it through your hair after shampooing and leave it on for 10-15 under a cap and warm dryer or leave it on for up to an hour with no dryer. Then rinse. I have medium brown hair that has some outer layer damage from trying to overwash out some bad color and my hair is kinda frizzy and in need of moisture. Do you all have any suggestions or know about how many times I might need to use this to get my hair a little healthier? Thanks ! Or will it even help?

I have personally never tried the one at Walmart. But I have tried natural olive oil, either by itself or mixed with mayonnaise. It does work great, specially for dry or damaged hair. So go ahead and give it a try. If not just go with a good protrein treatment. It will take several applications before you start seing a change. Usually 3 or 4. Remember to always deep condition after a protein repair treatment or your hair will feel like straw. A great deep conditioner is Redken All Soft Heavy Cream. Some great protein treatments are Nexxus emergencee, Joico K-pak deep penetrating reconstructor, Redken deep fuel, or Sebastian 2+1. All of which you can get at any Ulta, or Trade Secret store. They work wonders  for damaged hair. But try that oil pack if you want first, since is cheaper, and see how it works. If it works, then great, you saved your money. If not, then you know the other choices.

I was told that oil is not that great for hair because it cant penetrate into the actual hair strand...i still use olive oil though lol cant say i really notice a difference but i figure as long as its not doing any damage it cant hurt =D

Oil treatments have to be applied with heat, or at least wrapping the hair in plastic to create some heat, so the hair cuticle can open up and allow the oil to penetrate.
