Hi!  I just found this forum today while looking for some ways to style my hair.  I haven't been really trying to grow my hair out, but I do LOVE the way it looks long.

My only complaint is that sometimes I feel like I should style it more and Im not really sure what to do with it.  Especially in the rainy and humid winters that are the south of France.

I can pull of the two braids (picture below) but only if my hair is wet first and I braid it while wet...   It also looks much shorter I think when its like that.  Of course I can do the standard pony tail but I think I look not so great when its up like that and reserve that for studying, cleaning, workingout, and days when I just dont want to do anything with it including wash it!

Its now been 4.5 months since its been cut -  the longest Ive ever gone.  Ive had some awful experiences though and I want to wait until I get back to the US for the holidays to get it cut with a stylist who knows what they're doing, instead of risking it over here...

So, let me know honestly what you think...   does it look good on me?  Terrible?  ...  any suggestions?

I think your hair looks very good on you!  And I'm sure you look good in the ponytail too!  I have instructions on how to do a french twist on my page (link in signature), and if you google french twist you'll find plenty of links for other methods of doing one.  Braids are always an option too, see

for instructions for plenty of different ways to braid.

welcome euroducky!  your hair is gorgeous!  it looks a lot like mine did before i had to cut it (a little bit of hair loss a few months back, it was looking ragged).  hopefully mine will be as long as yours in a few months.
i know what you mean about styling on humid days.  i noticed that you have your hair scrunched with the wet look in one of your pics.  that's my most favorite style.  i'll scrunch it after i wash it, then the next day i can still wear it down, and if i'm too lazy to wash my hair the 3rd day, it makes for a great messy bun.
as for ponytails, i used to avoid them because they always made my face look rediculously fat.  but once this whole "pouf" thing came back in style, i've been rocking the tail.  all i do is make a ponytail, minus my bangs (or whatever could be bangs).  after that's up nice and sleek, i pull my bangs up and back, and can pin them right above the base of my ponytail.  so i have a sleek little pouf in the front, ponytail in the back.  i can pull off a messy version with my hair scrunched too.  and the great thing about having thick hair like us is that we don't have to tease our hair to get a pouf.  maybe someday i'll get pics up here of my handy ponytail...
anyways, i hope you and your hair do well!

Welcome Euroducky!

Pretty, no matter what style you choose.  I like the loose pic the best.
