i am trying to untangled my very very matted hair, i do not want to cut it 9scissors are close by!), i have spent two days trying to unmat it - i have used detangling conditioners/shampoo, a 'magic' detangler, coconut oil, olive oil it is all clumped together.  Someone help me please!!  I am wearing a hat.  I went to bed with cling film wrapped around my hair (covered in detangling conditioner/shampoo, but nothing is working.  I even put washing up liquid -nothing is working.  Last resort,i used a knitting needle to pull the hair out, but my head started to hurt.  I will try again, i only took small portions of hair.  My friend told me to put molasses and wrap it in cling film - i am doing that now.  I do not want to cut my head.  I just want to untangle it. please help me. i am ashamed to go to the hairdressers, i always do my hair myself but later i have neglected my hair and i am sorry about this awful mess.

oh no i think molasses will make it worse!! is that not sticky? how did it get so matted in the first place? try some hair serum like biosilk... it is slippery and will help them slide ot more. please keep me posted on the outcome!

thank you barbielocs - the molasses did not work but i think the cling film kept it moist - my neck is all sticky - did not sleep very well!!  but it did not work.  I woke up early and tried rubbing in somes beaten eggs.  I will go the the shop to purchase some serum.
