With a hot rag or just use a thinner pomade.

havnt used pomade in a min.. but when i used to the hand friction was enough to do the trick.. i guess try a hot rag after u put the pomade in... search the forum for some old threads i know some ppl talked about this b4 and ways to help get that pomade in
