okay im ashamed to say that i straightend my hair for about a yr! and blow dried it and died it,i never used any heat protecters...so as u can imagen,my hair is v.v.split.its got a layer at the top of my head where the straightners split it off...now i use lots of things on my hair, and dnt use a straighter.my hair is fab where its grown out!horay!..and is growing fast! i dunno wat to do about the split bits, as there to short to cut any way! o derrr!! hellpp..

Hi Chloe,
This is probably not the answer you want to hear, but there is no cure for split ends except a pair of scissors. You have to cut splits off because hair is dead and absolutely cannot repair itself without new cellular generation. Some products such sa pomades and waxes can temporarily mask the damage, but there is no permanent solution other than cutting off the ends. Good luck and don`t despair--it really is only hair and not your health :-)

Look into a technique called dusting - taking off JUST the splits. Sorry I can`t find a link for you right this minute, but I`ll post one later.
The thing to remember - if you don`t take them off they continue to travel up the hair shaft and get worse and worse.
