OK, Homegirl needs a new extensionist. NOW.

I figure, as a celeb, one might be able to score better extensions. Or pick up a stylist for free in exchange for an endorsement or something.
Anyone have any clues about what KIND of fusion extensions she has installed? (So that I can avoid them. I've been thinking of going fusion for months now...)
------------- If time travel were possible, everyone would keep going back to that one GREAT hair day!

Looks pretty bad indeed. Not only exposed bonds by the hair itself look horrible. I wonder who did that work.

That does not look good. But, I bet, with it looking that ratty, that she just hasn't taken care of it properly. And, I think the bonds were installed to high, or she parted her hair too far over, not leaving enough to cover the bonds.
Also, I can imagine as a celebrity, you probably hear everyone saying how wonderful you are all the time, and that can probably translate into being less than diligent with certain things, i.e.extension care because of, because who really cares, right? You'd still think you were fabulous (And rich)! Little do they know there are hairtalk watchers recording their every move....:)

dont think its the type of fusion she has in thats at fault its just where thay are placed by her extensionist so dont be put off just make sure you go to someone is recommended to you and whos work you have seen before.

It's like she could care less about hiding them. It's almost cool to
show off your extensions. I see a lot of people with their extensions
in full view.

I remember reading that she and Paris went to the Vered salon in LA.
I have personally met Vered and she seemed nice, but way over priced.

I think due to her hair being so thin and her having so many extensions in they are bound to show...her hair is way too thin to have so many extensions in-just looks wrong. The girl should invest in a good wig and leave the extensions alone.

Well, the poor looks like she's not in good shape, but I have seen waaaay worse in fusion extensions ( on me for example!! )
She does have thin hair and she probably wears too many on the top, you're right divinediva!

i think part of the problem is that they shine with the camera flash, and the extensionist probably didnt prepare for that.
i am one of those people that could care less (depending on my mood) about my extensions showing, so i understand that. but i bet she spends more than me
her hair is also probably so thin because of bad care with extensions... though that is a guess...

Her hair looks fine, why is everyone nit picking? So they got a bad shot that showed where her extensions were. It's obvious the texture and cut of her hair requires that her stylist go far up on her head to blend the hair, right? So Nicole was out all night and her hair settled and she didn't have time to fluff. Happens to the best of us. Imagine if they had left out those last two rows up there. She would have a shelf or would have had to razor the hair so much that it would look not right.
One thing I notice perusing other extensionists work is they never go high enough. It's like the temple line is the point of no return. I'd rather put in too much hair than not enough. But I do it all stealth-like so it is rarely a problem. I see people charging for a full head that is what I call a 3/4 head. I don't get it.

Well uhoh! I guess we're all lucky we aren't superstars and don't have paparazzi following us everywhere. I'm sure we had our "omg a hair extension" is showing moments that we weren't aware of either.

I agree with bridget.
I'm not a secretive person and I don't lie about having extensions. It's just not that important.
I know people that won't admit they had a boob-, lipo- and/or nose job though you can totally tell!
Why lie about it? Sooner or later people WILL find out so, when asked, why not just tell?
And why are people (especially women) so obsessed with finding anything wrong with "superstars"? How come there is so much joy in some when they see another human being in a vulnerable state? Does that showing bond in Nicole Richie's hair really make her any less worthy than us?
I'm sorry if I sound boring but that's just how I feel. I like folks that show their true colors. And you can never please everyone anyway...

Yeah, I agree, we all know they are fake, so why does it matter? BUT, on the other hand, it makes me angry that they are so rich, they should have some magical extensions or soemthing!! I mean, I feel like I've seen way better extensions from non-professionals!!
Anyways, I was at a dinner with my bf's family, and I had a lush and microlink install, and since my hair was super short then, I had to go up really high, and in some pictures from dinner, you could see EVERY ring on the top of my head. I was horrified! I asked my bf if my hair always looked like this, and he said yes!!
If a person was following me around all day, ouch...it would be worse than britney!! lol
But, at the same time, that is part of being a celebrity....

Everyone I know knows I have extensions. . .there is NO WAY that I can get away without something showing at some point, because my hair is so thin and fine for one thing, and, I'm also lazy so I wear it up if I feel like it and don't obsess about a "weld" (as my husband affectionately causes the attachment point, whatever method. . .). I think it's embarassing for *other* people. On my first pinch braid install Heather went too far up into my "cowlick" on the back of my head so my hair just WOULD NOT cover it. One time I was getting off an airplane and a well-meaning young woman frantically whispered in my ear "can I fix your hair? Your EXTENSIONS ARE SHOWING!". and that was pretty bad, I admit. . .
I just hate it when the fusion extensions look like dried snot!! I don't think Nicole's look that bad. . .

re: second photo... Is that a nose piercing?
Now, I have a nose stud and the stone is on the side as are my friend's nose piercings and everyone else's I've seen. Can't say I've ever seen a stone coming out of the nostril like that.

Some context here:
The first photo (the one where she's dressed casually) is a photo of her leaving the 626 Clinic which, according to their sched, just finished up a Meth-Addicts Anon meeting...
OK, not saying that she IS a meth addict, but perhaps she switched to coke?
She's been saying over and over that she is NOT anorexic. Hmm... perhaps meth has something to do with the unique inner-nost-whiteness. That would explain the thinning hair. Oh yea, did I mention that she DOES NOT have a pierced nose?
ALright, so she IS a celeb and wot not. But as the bourgoisie, onlookers from the internet/tabloids... why can't we indulge our eat-the-rich tendencies once in a while?
At the very least... she IS a celebrity... she IS a trendsetter and she knows it. With that disctinction, why leave the mansion TWICE with the same non-camoflage job? Did someone not tap her on the shoulder and let her know?
It's half the fun of tabloids.

The nostril (ie. side of the nose) isn't the only place you can get
your nose pierced! I've got both nostrils done, but also a septum
piercing, maybe she has one of those? (Although if she has - it seems
to be pierced rather far back from the tip of the nose.)
It's possible - they are more common than people think as they are very
easy to hide if you wear the right jewellery. Scarlett Johanssen has a
septum piercing, but you'd never know as she generally wears a clear
retainer with the ends flipped up inside the nose.

I guess my take on this is simple.. I don't try to pretend that this hair is mine, nor do I advertise "HEY I'M WEARING EXTENSIONS!!!!" I have a GREAT stylist who does a kick assed job with my installs.. So except for my close friends, NO ONE knows my secret.. I think the key to a GREAT install is if NO ONE can tell and part of that great install is NOT SEEING YOUR BONDS OR TRACKS SHOWING.. But that's just me, and that's how I like to roll.. So I say SHAME on her stylist for installing her hair so she looks like she's wearing a sign that says

since i dont care for her very much, yes......i pointed at my computer screen and laughed....and i KNOW my own wefts have been showing often, i dont care....but im glad someone snapped that photo of her
if it were someone i actually liked, perhaps i'd be more inclined to feel like 'awwww, bless her, she's just like me'......but, alas, she is not
and yes, i am one of those people that keep STAR and National Enquirer in business......now,im going to go see if Inside Edition is on
by the way, i just today realized that HairBoutique's own Karen Shelton has a celebrity hair blog :
