Can someone give me a step by step process for straintening my new growth? Ive tried straightening it on the number 8 setting(which as high as my stylist says i should go so i dont damage my hair) am i doing something wrong ? is there a technique or is it impossible to straighten new growth?

oh yeah can someone tell me WHY its so hard to straighten new growth i mean its hair doesnt it conform to heat?

I don't ever straighten my new growth myself, because I have a relaxer, but I know on http://NaturallyCurly.com - NaturallyCurly.com  they have plenty of types for straightening hair.  Good luck!Smile

It's not impossible to straighten newgrowth. Some flat irons are better at it then others....I noticed that to straighten my hair 8 was not gettin it. The one I used to use went up to 26 and I used to put it on 15. Also, be sure to use heat protectant and do a cold shot with your dryer to seal in the style. It is not impossible, but time consuming when you first start. If all else fails go get a Dominican blowout.

Yea I think it depends on the iron too...the best for me so far is maxiglide...my ng is sooo thick now that it takes forever to press on my own because I have to do it in very small sections so I am going to start going to the salon and have them flat iron it for me. HTH
