Hello everyone! I have a few questions about how to get my hair extensions to blend with my natural hair. I am going to be applying human hair with shrinkie(last time i had microlinks but they showed too much). My hair is currently a little shorter than shoulder lenght and is layered in back. I heard about getting a feathering tool and layering with that. I am going for both lenght and thickness. Thank you soo much for your responces, anything will be helpful!

Brenda, Try to install as high as you can. It will blend perfectly. Don't be afraid of trying. Experiment until you are happy with the results.
I had never use Shrinkies, I use Liquid Gold, and the Sandwih method works wonders!!! Specially at the top of the head. I lOVE IT!
You can di Shrinkies at the lower parts of your haed and use LG at the top. There are a few tips on how to make the Weft almost invisible with liquid Gold. I will do a search for you and find that post. Because Is a method I am using, and I LOVE it!!!!

Are you installing, Straight or Curly Hair?

Now I can't find that post!!!
O.k What it is is that you cut the first (top) line of the 2 Threath of the weft. All you end up is with a very thin Line in the weft. You apply LG, when you glue it is undetectable. Some hair attached by the top threath migh come out, but LG and the remaing threath  will hold the rest.

Oh My! I hope I made it clear. I am trying to translate what I want to say. :)

One of the best ways to blend extensions to natural hair is to make 3 rows (or more) leave the 2 bottom wefts long, and razor the top one to be a length between your natural hair length on top, and the longer wefts at the bottom.  It's easier if you cut the
"in between length" before the install. The shorter your natural hair the more layers you will need.

Yep, I agree with Mokipono!
I layer the first top weft (the closest in color to my roots color) and then lower wefts I try to keep the volume and to just trim a tiny bit, and I use lighter colors, that match the end of my natural hair!!
