I was just wondering if people preferred wefts or strand by strand better. I personally perfer strand by strand better cause when I had wefts you could totally see them through my hair. Thanks!

I prefer wefts on myself, but most of my clients prefer strand by strand.

My hair is so thin that strands tend to look stringy on me.

I like a mixture of both at the same time.

I like both, I like the fullness of the wefts, but I like how the strand by strand feels. It feels more like my natural hair

I agree with both Nakedeye and Elvira. Wefts do tend to give more volume... strands do tend to feel a bit more natural--- but It is also nice to try using both at the same time---

You can put in some strand by strands on the top few layers of your head near your crown and where you part your hair. Then you can use the wefts for the mid asnd bottom layers to get the fullness.

I have tried this and it does work well for me. Sometimes I have trouble with the wefts showing, too- but now I have done so many installs on myself and others I have a pretty good idea of how/where to apply the wefts to prevent peeking wefts. It does take some practice.

Most of the time I use the wefts for the ease of application. Plus I am always trying new hair and changing my hair color, etc.--- so the strand by strand is not really practical for me.

Now that my own hair is a little longer I am entertaining trying some strand by strands again- probably with the silicone lined microlinks. So far they are my favorite for strand by strand. Before my hair grew out to below my shoulders, I could not get enough volume form the strand by strand alone- I needed at least a few wefts for enough volume.

Yeah, me too.  I where extensions all of the time and no matter how much I apply my own hair over the weft weave it is still visable to others.  But how do you apply strands by strands weaves?  Because, I was thinking of buying some extremely long hair from someone over the internet, and it is really 100% human hair.  This hair is actually another person's hair.   I mean, I never actually believed that the 100% wholesale human hair was really human hair.  To me, it feels like 100% of other fibers but it doesn't feel real to me.  But this website I visited today sells 100% human hair from other people that actually donate and sell their hair.  But some of these people are selling their hair ridiculusly expensive though!!  It is too high for my pockets!!  But I was just lurking around trying to find actually floor-length hair or 63 inch hair.  The reason why is because I want to see what it actually feels like to have hair that long.  I bet the weight is heavy.

I use to have a church friend that had hair that long, and I've always dreamed of having hair that long or having her hair.  I've always wondered what it felt like to have that much hair.  But I imagined that it is very heavy but you do get use to it just like you do anything else.  I have though about myself that if or whenever I see her again I will tell her how much I admire her long hair, and that I have always wanted to have her hair.  Til' this day I have not told her how much I admire her floor-length hair.  I'm not sure til' this day if she has let it all grow back yet.  Because, we haven't seen each other since the year of 1989.  She moved away to NY.  But I still do see her mother at church though.  I often ask her mother about her, and she says, "Oh, she loves NY," and she's doing fine.

The next time I see or talk to her mother again I will ask her if she has a contact number on her.  I want to see and talk to her sooooo bad.  I bet she is wondering how I am doing too.  Now, when we were growing up in church my hair wasn't quite as long as hers but it was quite long.  The longest my hair has ever been in my life was down to the middle of my back about 2 inches away from my waist.  I regret til' this day that I chopped off all my hair up to chin-length calling myself trying to follow the latest hair-styles.  But today I do regret cutting it because I truely believe that if I had not cut it I would probably have classic-length or near floor-length hair by now.

Well I've been wearing wefts with protac for the past few months after years of pinchbraids.  While I much prefer the ease of install with protac and $$ savings I do miss the way the hair "falls" with strand by strand.  Ponytails look more natural and the hair has more movement with strand by strand in my opinion and I never had a problem getting enough volume.  Problem is, I can't afford to get my hair done and I refuse to take the time to do strand by strand on myself, so protac it is!

Hey Blondie, It sounds to me like if you had hair down to the floor you'll be stepping all over it. Your friends at church will be stepping on it too and they may not even realize it. You'll have to tap them on the shoulder and ask them to remove their feet from your hair. That's no fun at all. Also, think about the toilet. I'm imagining all kinds of chaos that I don't want to type but I think you know where I'm going with this.
