Bangs don't seem to be subtle this time around.  Celebs are skipping the baby bangs and going straight to more of an 80'sish really thick bang.  I'm going to say that Anne Hathaway set this trend in the Devil Wears Prada. She's already grown them out but it was the first I recall really seeing them in the mainstream.  Am I off in saying that there are enough new bangs out there to be considered a pretty serious trend?

We all know about Rosario Dawson.  Must be for a role.

Paris Hilton - I don't like her, but absolutely love this hair.  Its the best long hair I've seen on her

Misha Barton - just finished growing them out only to cut them even thicker than before.  I like it a lot on her

I'm generally a fan of bangs, so I'm glad the trend has some traction.

Having said that, can I still complain? Yeah, why not. I'm not so much a fan of this straight-down, thick "sheepdog" bang. I prefer the slightly-longer, sideswept version. There's something about that fringe skimming sideways and setting of the eyes that I think makes almost every woman who wears it look younger, hotter, and more alluring. Setting off the eyes is what hair SHOULD do - highlight the best features of your face. Bang beggars can't be choosers, I guess.

And I've actually noticed that there seems to be a minor trendlet building for straight, one-length bobs, which I've never found very appealing, having none of the sassiness of short, curled/flipped/layered hair, or the sultriness of long, silky hair. Jenny McCarthy is one of many who springs to mind.

I am definately on the no bangs bandwagon. To me they are the sign of the 80s coming back in full force with baggy clothes on women that make them look more manly. I understand that some find it appealing, but as for these celebrities shown above, I look back at earlier pictures and find a general downgrade trend for all of them.
