Ok this may sound silly. I got hair extensions at a salon (my first time ever) because my hair was growing too slowly. I had chin length boob or a bit shorter. I had indian hair put in using tiny metal beads method. I was very happy with the service although they left the hair a bit too long for my liking. About brastrap length. I didn't say anything at the time.

When I got home I decided that it will look more natural if I shorten it a bit and took quite a bit off, ended up with shoulder length at the front and just below the shoulders at the back. Still I'm happy, hair feels comfortable and after washing it twice still looks great and can hold a curl even though it's straight Indian hair.

Now for my dilema: I need to go back in 6 weeks to the same salon to have extensions moved up. I'm a bit embarassed to see the guy that did them as I know he will not like the fact that I have cut them myself Embarrassed

Do I just go to a different salon that does the same method? (which is pity as I was really happy with the service at the first one).

Girl, don't you worry about a thing. You are a paying customer, right? That means you can do whatever you want with your hair. And he won't mind.
But next time just tell him exactly what you want, don't be shy.
Still, if you come home and cut it yourself again it's none of his business... .

Why would you go to a different salon? What is the worst that can happen? His feelings might get hurt. It's your hair.

Yeah, I agree, you paid so consider that whatever happens to your hair now is your problem!

I don't think they'd be offended if you only cut the hair, if they didn't ask you how long you wanted it before and after you had it put in, I would assume they probably thought you would get it cut and styled somewhere else.

Lots and lots of people cut their own hair.  Hair stylists are used to that.  It's no big deal.

Sometimes we may have to go back and trim it up a bit, but other than that I don't see a major problem with cutting your hair.
