now, I've highlighted my own hair plenty of times with absolutely great results for the last couple of years. It's a lot cheaper than going to a salon and I get semi-comparative results. My friends are trying to talk me into adding lowlights when I next tackle my hair and I'm curious about something.  Since I'm new to this, would I want to highlight or lowlight first?? I was thinking I should highlight first, but am not sure.

(Yes, I know how to work with foils in my own hair, so I will be using that process).

well since you know what you are doing with the foils. I would do one hi-light in a foil, then one low- light in a foilThumbs%20Up, and work all the way through the area you want to do, best of luck

Have you done it yet? If so, what was the result and which way did you do it? Just curious......It seems to me, that lowlighting first would be simpler....bc it's hard to darken highlighted hair (if you highlighted first) without getting mixed results...but easier to lift color with bleach.....but that is just my thoughts...real tests tell more....So??
