Why does boys hair grow much faster than girls.

I think that it had to do with the testosterone  for one thing and another most boys are more active than girls. they also don't manipulate their hair much.
 
Try protective stylin- this forces us not to be in our hair as much and my hair really grows much faster that way.

Yes, braids are a protective style. if you are doing them on your own hair- i would leave them in no longer than two weeks and then take them down and shampoo/condition/deep condition your hair prior to re-doing it. If you are getting individuals done- you can leave them in for up to 12 weeks. Make sure that you shampoo w/ diluted shampoo and condition w/diluted conditioner once per week and keep them moisturized.

I don't think that male hair grows faster, I think ladies tend to fuss and manipulate their hair more often and more vigorously which may help to break it off.
