Hello Beautiful Ladies!
I installed my elite thermo last Friday (the 10th), have curled it once and the ends are completely fried! I'm so sad, because I kept about the last inch or so out of the curling iron. Now, my ends are matting together! I have only washed it twice and conditioned it both times with the Neutrogena conditioner. ARRRGGGGHHH!!!!
  Perhaps I'm doing something wrong? I'm going to write down what I did and would love any feedback from any of you lovely ladies out there who use elite thermo regularly.
- I curled it, keeping the last inch or so out of the barrel, as I said before.
- Used a metal curling iron (a one inch barrel - which made the curls too tight! GGGRRRRR
)Used the metal curling iron on the highest setting (20) and used my other one inch curling iron on 30 (also the highest setting on that one).
Did I use too much heat????? or is elite thermo just like this??? I know Amm keeps hers beautiful for 6 weeks or more and I wonder why I'm thermofiber-defective! I saw that thermofiber hair has a heat resistance of 375 degrees F. Has anyone else heard this? I don't even know how hot the average curling iron gets! Any ideas.
I just ordered some more Elite and also bought some WaWa yesterday just to try out. I've also ordered some Unique Wiiv, per Aphrodiva's suggestion, and will try that for my holiday-pretty install.
Anyway, I'd love to hear feedback from others on my Elite experience with the matting and generally yucky ends. The rest of it still feels quite soft.

When you remove the hair, can you please send some back to me so I can take a look?
I have never seen Elite thermo turn like that. On the contrary, it always outlasts the Protac install. This is my super long install and I even reinstalled the side pieces at 4 weeks. The fiber always fingercombed straight through to the ends.

I'll definitely send you a sample when I take it out. I should doing another install tonight or tomorrow.
Do you curl yours a special way, with a lower heat perhaps?

When I used the Elite Thermo, I only experinced damage when I brushed too roughly when the hair was wet- some of the ends snapped a bit, and did not recover (being as it is fiber). I curled, straightened, etc. Never experienced any damage from those things. Only the too rough brushing/pulling.. which was entirely my fault. I think you would have to uber fry the fiber with high heat to get it to behave that way....? Other than the damage I did from pulling the hair, I found that the Elite Thermo help up very well. ------------- |

| Does your curling iron have a heat setting as in exact temperature. I had a flat iron that only had a dial and I swear that thing would get up to 500 degrees. |

Did you wet the hair first? ------------- Thanks, JeepGirl Current install-Bohyme Bodywave #30 and #14 in the straight hair/ they didn't have the #14 in bodywave, so I mixed them...works great! |
