Some people think products like Frizz-ease and other silicone products work well. Others do not think they`re effective, or worse, some people find they make their hair even drier and frizzier after using a few times. A few suggestions from me (I have fine, somewhat thin, dry, wavy hair that frizzes in humidity) and my daughter, who has fine, super-thick, super-curly frizzy hair: (1.) Put conditioner in your hair after shampooing and don`t wash it out. Just let your hair dry. If this is too much for your hair, try (2.) Condition your hair, rinse; apply conditioner again, rinse. Don`t over rinse. Or, (3.) Take a little olive oil and rub it on your palms, then lightly run your palms through your hair after it is dry. It takes a little practice determining the right amount. (4.) Try KMS Daily Repair Leave-in Conditioner; it doesn`t contain silicone. Use it after washing and conditioning and rinsing your hair. (5.) If your hair doesn`t become drier when you use silicone products, try Aveda Elixir Leave-in Conditioner. Or, (6.) Aveda Pure-Fume Brilliant Re-texturizing Gel after washing and conditioning your hair. This can also be smoothed on after hair is dry. It does not contain silicone. However, it has a strong fragrance so be sure you`re not allergic to it (I am). In terms of drug store products, I`m not very familiar with those. Read the ingredients and see what you can come up with--conditioning twice might be a good technique with the drug store conditioners. The above are just suggestions, and you`ll want to evaluate them in terms of your hair type and thickness. Less is more with fine or thin hair, I`ve found. My daughter seems to be able to douse her hair with conditioners. Sometimes, in the middle of a humid day, I walk into the bathroom at work and my hair is a frizz horror. I have found that putting hand lotion on my hands and smoothing my palms over my hair actually works pretty well! Good luck!
