While I don`t personally know anyone that has tried it, I have read that washing your hair in baking soda will remove the stain. This is supposed to be an old home remedy for removing hair dye and will work on iron stains too. Good luck and I am curious if it works.

I had the same problem. I went to the salon and got them to strip my hair! All they used was that STINKY stuff that is used for perms.
And it totally worked! I had to do it many times though (because our water softener never seems to work for me!!!)

Denise,

I grew up on a farm and know the heartache of orange well-water hair. I have blonde hair so getting it removed was crucial. The two ways I had it removed were: perm solution combed through my hair (it ends up dripping off your head a bright purple color) and a Malibu (I believe that is a specific brand) treatment.

I hope your hair is already back to normal!

Jaclyn
