hiya,

am new here and new to extensions in general. i read through your forum and it has sooo many useful tips and advice, but i could do with some help-

am fed up of waiting for my hair to grow long, and thought i'd go for something bright, so i ordered a set of pink microring extensions to add length by doing the underlayers of my hair.

however, my hair is shoulder - length, straight and fluffy and doesnt lie flat down my back no matter how much i straighten. do you have any advise how to make it lie flat so that my new hair doesnt look silly? i considered cutting layers into the extensions but i didnt put them in yet so i dont know how thick they'll be.

any advice would be great, all i want is cute long hair!!!

thanks :)

Hi, I have been doing extensions on my own hair and I have found the best way to get my hair to blend is to use full-head extensions in a wavy texture to hide the poof of my shorter hair.
The colorful accents mix in well when coupled with extensions matching the texture and color of my natural hair.

Best way to get blending down is to use hair that is closest to your own hair texture.. If you have poofy hair then a silky hair isn't gonna blend unless you are willing to either curl the extensions hair to match or straighten your own hair to blend (heat or chemically straighten)

I totally agree with Divavocals on the straightening part. You could use a regular strength relaxer, but if that don't work, you might want to use a flat iron.Smile

Being black, and having curly hair, frizzy when i comb it, I have to use this process in order for my hair to look straight.

I wanted some straight hair, but now I'm opting to stick with curly to blend well with my hair.Cry
