hiya, am new here and new to extensions in general. i read through your forum and it has sooo many useful tips and advice, but i could do with some help- am fed up of waiting for my hair to grow long, and thought i'd go for something bright, so i ordered a set of pink microring extensions to add length by doing the underlayers of my hair. however, my hair is shoulder - length, straight and fluffy and doesnt lie flat down my back no matter how much i straighten. do you have any advise how to make it lie flat so that my new hair doesnt look silly? i considered cutting layers into the extensions but i didnt put them in yet so i dont know how thick they'll be. any advice would be great, all i want is cute long hair!!! thanks :) ------------- <3 |

Hi, I have been doing extensions on my own hair and I have found the best way to get my hair to blend is to use full-head extensions in a wavy texture to hide the poof of my shorter hair. The colorful accents mix in well when coupled with extensions matching the texture and color of my natural hair. |

Best way to get blending down is to use hair that is closest to your own hair texture.. If you have poofy hair then a silky hair isn't gonna blend unless you are willing to either curl the extensions hair to match or straighten your own hair to blend (heat or chemically straighten)

I totally agree with Divavocals on the straightening part. You could use a regular strength relaxer, but if that don't work, you might want to use a flat iron.
Being black, and having curly hair, frizzy when i comb it, I have to use this process in order for my hair to look straight.
I wanted some straight hair, but now I'm opting to stick with curly to blend well with my hair.  ------------- WEAVE WEARER SINCE 1991 |
