Hi, I noticed hairspray is leaving a whitish coating on my hair where I have been using it a lot. I have tried shampoo, conditioners, vinegar/water and combing. It only comes off when I use my fingernails and pull it off. Is there something I can wash my hair with to remove it? I look like I am graying, lol. Any help would be very much appreciated.

baking soda.
put about a couple tablespoons in the palm of your hand and add shampoo to make a paste, work into hair.
that`s the only thing that would get all the goop out of my hair from those hair lovin 80s!!
lol

How about a clarifying shampoo made to get out all the build up? I think Phytologie makes one. Check out some of the websites that sell hair products (wwbeautystore.com and adiscountbeauty.com). Most have lots of salon quality brands and descriptions of what each product will do.

thank you, I shall do both. I don`t use that much hairspray, but I guess I got carried away one day.
