Hi everyone! I know I am a newbie, but I would like a tad of input. I have waist lenghth brown hair that has sort of a red tint to it. I would like to highlight my hair blonde but I can`t afford to go to the salon and have it foiled ($80 is too much). I was wondering if there are any reputably good home highlighting kits out there that do not involve pulling your hair through a cap (mine is much too long and I would`nt risk the damage). Thanks a billion!

Rach

I know it costs a lot to do a foil on long hair but look at the time you have invested now. it`s not worth it messing it up with a home kit.

check into finding a beauty school in your area. I have the senior students do my highlighting -- that is how i met my best friend and she is still my stylist.

hth.

Thanks...actually I go to a technical college (we`re out for Spring Break). When I go back I`ll go to the cosmetology center. Maybe I can get it done there for cheap. How much does it usually run you there?

to do my whole head was about 40 the first time, but that was because it took so much product now to do just my root touch ups is 20.

for Tiff to do my roots in her salon now (doing the same thing with the exact same product) is going to cost me $45-50 for a root job. I will pay it because I love her and she is my bud. Plus it`s the only time I get to see her these days. :)

Hey, if you are truly a Georgia Peach from Georgia I can recommend some very cheap and experienced people about an hour north of Atlanta in rural north Georgia. I can think of two salons right now where highlights are $40.00 and the stylists have lots of experience.
