Your hair is beautiful!
A stylist can trim some layers in the very bottom of your hair where it flips, it will help your hair turn under, and it will help loosen the wave. I have similar hair, but I have that flip all around my head. It is hard to combat.
Getting your hair cut dry will help to get a straighter style, because your hair is set to it's wave, unlike when it is wet, then shrinks differently according to your waves.
I have stubborn frizzy hair, but I recently started using anti flat sunsilk rinse out conditioner. My hair is comlpetely different, no frizz, and it looks like I stlye it with a big barrel iron, and all I do is air dry!
Water down the sunsilk in your hand before you use it, it is concentrated. The anti flat really balances out my curls, waves, and straightish hair.

Do you have a picture for me to see the layers you are talking about? I thought the anti flat was for volume. So it really works for waves? I have natural waves that I want to straighten and leave in really big loose waves. Honestly, I think the only way you are going to get that look is with a flat iron.
I gave up trying to have long, healthy hair like yours, and chopped it into layers over the summer.
A stylist that is really good with wavy hair can cut some layers into that flip in the very bottom of your hair to help it turn under, which will help it look straighter. I think your ends might flip out even with a flat iron, I know mine do. That flip tends to be dominant!
Your hair also looks thick, and that might make it difficult to get your hair to look that flat without heat.
I would stay away from any store styling products, they are usually just watery glue, or too heavy for your hair.
The sunsilk anti flat works for me because I have frizzy dry hair, and an oily scalp. The sunsilk makes my hair soft, and frizz free, which makes my hair look straighter. W/o sunsilk I have individual, wiry, frizzy strands of hair that poke out like I am getting electrocuted. I now have hair that is smooth and full of body, and those frizzy wires are gone! I have never had a product condition my hair w/o making it oily.
Water down the sunsilk in your hands, and only apply it to the ends of your hair if you are worried about your hair getting big, use your regular conditioner on the rest of your hair.

Yeap, the only way to get that is with a flat iron. But you can try doing a hair wrap. Part the hair on the side, from the highest part of your head to the front. Comb it to the side and start forming a wrap around your head, securing the hair with large bobby pins or hair clips (the ones used to secure rollers). Alternate the pins (applying them from the back to the front, and then from the front to the back) Keep wrapping the hair around your head until it is completly wrapped. It will take alot of practice, but the more you do it the better you'll get at it, and the less bobby pins you will need. The longer you leave the "turniquette" (sp?) on the straighter the hair will be.

You have great shiny hair, so of cause i understand that you dont want to use hot irons on it. There is one product i could recommend which is Redkin flat out serum, which you basically put on damp hair and blow dry it straight. However to achieve the best straight look im afraid straighteners are the answer, you can get great products to protect the hair while straightening, i love ghd iron oil, as it protects and helps control frizz and style.
