It's really not thattt big of a deal to wash pomade out unless you pile it on your head like a cake with extra frosting. I can't speak for other brands, but I use Sportin' Waves (Black Can), and when the time comes for me to wash it out, I just wet it lightly, shampoo it alotttt...comb it thru, and then rinse. I can always tell when the pomade comes out because my comb gets a lil greasy and I can actually see the pomade in liquid form running off my head. Then I shampoo again and I'm pomade-free

If you use thick pomade use dishwashing detergent to wash it out.

lol dish washing deterg., naw its not hard to wash out unless your usin somthin thick like sportin waves gold; where you start scratchin that stuff out, but compare it to the 360 waves can, that stuff will rinse out easily. You can be outside and a lil rain will make that stuff come down your face. So it depends on the kind of pomade.

To remove the thick pomades like murrays, nu-nile, Dax(red), Sportin-Wave(Gold) I would use dishwashing liquid twice, then regular shampoo, then condition. That way the hair is completely clean with no residue.
