Hi everyone! I have been wearing hair extensions now for about a year. The one Major problem I'm having is finding my hair texture when buying my extensions. I have tried Sally's, and another local hair store near by, but my extensions never last. I want good hair that I can wear and not have it look mismatched. I also have tired every product out there and i still have dry nappy extensions.I have very soft, thin light wight hair.
HELP PLEASE

I would take a look around the forum and see what others are using. There are several brands that get good reviews, and I would stick to a brand that is tried and tested.
Not every brand/type of hair works for every person, so just do your research and ask lots of questions. The ladies here are all very helpful and there is alot of very knowledgeable people here.

Go to Sherrie's site....she sells Bohyme and so far it looks like it's one of our front runners for hair choices.....but god knows there is a ton of other great hair out there as well.
Also Amm has a very nice line of Elite Remy ,it's getting rave reviews!. I think she is in the process of expanding the color line. I wore this hair once and LOVED IT....but she stopped carrying it for awhile.
Amm....is it the same hair as before and will you get any 12 or 14 color in this hair?
Most of the gals that sell hair on here have their web site listed for you to visit.
Both gals mentioned above have top notch customer service. I've tried other vendors and haven't been happy with the hair. These gals have worn or are wearing what they sell and will tell you the good, bad and the ugly of the product. Trust me..between these two ladies and this board that they contribute to...I won't buy from anyone else!
------------- Thanks,
JeepGirl
Current install-Bohyme Bodywave #30 and #14 in the straight hair/ they didn't have the #14 in bodywave, so I mixed them...works great!

I have started wearing Amm's Thermofiber (synthetic) and I have found it to be the best hair for me- bar none. Keep searching and trying new things. All the Beauty Supply store hair I have worn has been crappy :(

in my experience with hair---you get what you pay for. Go for bohyme or other high quality hair like DLUX, it lasts way longer, looks better. it's worth the investment.

hiya sarahelizabeth
yeah as the other girls said you need to invest in some good quality hair.
you will find the cheap beauty salon hair will not match well with your own hair since your on hair will be in much better condition than the extensiosn hair which has undergone very harsh chemical processes.
the more expensive hair will have undergone chemical proceses as well but will be less destructive.
bohyme is a good quality brand if you do a search on the board you will find consistent good revues.
i have also heard good things about delux hair on kristens site and i am awaiting an order. this is slightly cheaper than bohyme
if your on a budget however, you may find that even a thermofibre is better thanyour sallys hair.
spending a little more will be worth the investment i assure you

I have very fine, soft, light weight hair, like you. I was using bohyme, and although it held up great for 3 months, even after coloring, the texture never matched spot on for me. I recently installed Unique Wiiv Body Wave (from ebonyline.com), and I think it's a better texture match for me. They have it in straight textures, if you don't like wavy, but I don't know how soft that is. I just think the Unique is lighter, and finer than the Bohyme (they are supposedly produced by the same company). And, I haven't noticed any quality differences to speak of.

Thank you so much ladys for all your help! It nice to talk to people who know what they are talking about [IMG]smileys/smiley31.gif" align="middle" /> [IMG]smileys/smiley9.gif" align="middle" />
Is the bohyme hair good as far as washing it and straiting it. And the web site ebonyline.com. is that a safe site to use credit card and stuff?

Yeah, I think bohyme might match your texture well. It's very fine and soft. Sherrie has great customer service, and I love buying from the members on here over other companies, because they have spent their time helping everyone out, and you know you are handing your money to someone good!!
Everything I've gotten from Sally's was pretty coarse and over processed.
You could try some of their synth, it was nice, but synth I think is more coarse feeling, may not blend well with fine hair, but if you don't mind spending the money, at around 10 bucks a pack, it might be a place to start. Also, if you go the synth route, you could try wawa (sherrie also sells that) elite thermo fiber from amm, and I lately love outre balik, I have had that in clip-ins and wear them nearly everyday!

Hello Again. Thanks you for all your time in helping me. I got some new hair. it worked wonderful and looked amazing for the first week. now I'm on week 2 and its starting to get really nappy feeling and I'm always brushing it. I was reading on a few posts that when u buy hair they have a type of silicone on them. Is that the reason why they feel so good at first until you wash them. Can you buy the silicone and just re-apply it on the extensions? I straighten my hair everyday and i also straighten my extensions to make everything blend a little better. Is this the reason that my hair isn't holding up. Can you buy hair that doesn't go through the chemical proses?

Hi Sarah!!!! again I will say what everyone else is saying, do your homework!!! I have tried every hair out there!!! I am currently wearing the Elite Remy and I'm loving! this hair!!! I will post pictures later.. but it's only been a week. But so far this hair is soooo soft and fine, not "nappy" feeling at all!!!! But you have to wear the hair to see how it's going to hold up and everyone has different needs. I will keep you posted if you like! but I have to say next to the Russian this has been the best so far!

sarah you could buy a silicone serum which coats the hair and can smooth the hair. they dont get your hair back to the 'out the packet feel' but they can improve it.
you can buy hair that hasnot undergone chemical process - virgin hair. it will almost always be in a dark brown to black colour which isnt much good if you are blonde.
finding hair that works for you is often a bit of a hit or miss. but do some research, have a search on the board and read our reviews of hair brands.

This supplier -the one who PRODUCES this hair- has many types of hair available and I'm going to see about getting samples of everything. I already have an asian version of this hair on the no beard weft and I'm hoarding it like gold. Mwahaha! ;)
As far as to what I carried in the past, since the hair has gotten great reviews for the majority, I will stock it again and in more colors. I'll see about getting in a silky straight version as well since I've had inquiries on it. :)

I had a sample of the Russian and I have to say that that's quite a compliment to compare it to the Elite Remy. That Russian was tits on a Ritz.
Didn't you get the 8/16? I LOVE that color combo. :)

You do tend to find silicone coatings applied most often to over processed cuticle stripped hair. The silicone gives the hair a cosmetically appealing look to it in the package. However, once the silicone coating wears off, the hair's true nature begins to show, and snarling and tangling will ensue.. It's really true in the extensions game that sometimes you really do get what you pay for. The general rule of thumb for me is to stay away from most brands sold at the local BSS. Look for better quality hair. The ladies here have given you some excellent vendor recommendations. I'll add three more to your recommended vendor list:
Extensions Plus Wagman Primus Giovanni & Sons
The website in my siggy has all of the vendor contact information for these vendors and others.. HTH
