Has anyone ever had laser tattoo removal?  I recently did the stupiest thing in my life. I got permanent make up for my eyebrows, and now don't like it.  :(  I am thinking about getting them removed, if at all possible.  Has anyone ever had a tattoo removed with laser?  If so, what was it like, and did you think it was worth it?

thank you

How long ago did you have your eyebrows done? If it was less than 28 days ago, all you have to do, is the opposite of what they told you to do. Do not keep the area moisturized. After washing your face and soaking the scabs, remove them gently (everyday). It will fade almost 100%. If it has been more than 28 days, then the pigment is set, and it will take alot longer to fade.

I've never had laser tatto removal, but have seen people that have, and you can still see kind of a shade where the tatoo was. It looks kind of like a faded scar. I don't think you would want that on your face.

However, I have a friend who is a cosmetologist, and while at her practice, there was a girl who had her lips permanently lined. She didn't like the final results. They proceded to go over the tattoed area with clear pigment. That lifted out almost all the color. She was told to do what I mentioned above (don't moisturize, remove the scabs etc) and I saw her again about 8 days later and all the color was gone. However, she had just gotten the procedure done. I don't know if it could be done days after. I would still check at the place where you got them done, to see if there is anything that they can do.

Good luck.

I'm also interested in removing an old tattoo. It was the first piece of body art I ever got. I was very young and I didn't do much research and went to the first place I could find. I've wanted to get rid of it for years.

Would one seek out a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon for this procedure?

A plastic surgeon can do it for sure. Most dermatologists perform the procedure as well.

I have had one removed and the procedure went very well.  You can't even see where it used to be.
The results will vary depending on how long the tattoo has been there and what colors were used.  Some colors come out faster than others while some are not affected at all.  Mine was red and black, about the size of a silver dollar and was completely gone in 4 treatments.
It is quite expensive (It was $60 to have put on and $800 to have removed!) Also, it is much more painful than the inital tattooing but very quick.  Each of my treatments took less than a minute!

I went to a dermatologist for my treatments.
