i am a male and have the typical asian hair, sort of hard and stiff and refuses to stay flat. It sticks up in a kind of afro and looks terrible.

I heard hair relaxers can make it lie flat? Are they dangerous to use?
I also heard that you can buy some at some local drugstores like CVS.

Also, if anyone has used it before, can you tell me how long your hair should be before using it?

Hair relaxers can make it straight but it is a harsh chemical.  it completely straightens the bonds in the hair so once you receive a relaxer you will need to get a retouch just as fast as your hair grows.  Have you tried a ceramic iron?

I was a hair relaxer addict a couple of year before. I even turned my friends into addicts too. We would buy relaxers and have relaxers party at my dorm and I would do everybody's hair.

We are guys.........

Yes it can make you hair lie flat if done properly or it would make it spikier than ever before.

Yes it is dangerous because it is a very harsh chemical, you can burn your scalp and and your hair. Not to mention its smells so bad.

yes some drugstores sell them, but those kinds arent as strong as those sold in salon or salon stores.

The longer you hair the better. Shorter hair will be curlier in 2 weeks. So have it relaxed when your hair is at least 3 inches long.

Trust me, any shorter you will be doing it every week.
