So I been using pro active for the last 6 months and it never really helped me and just started to break me out bad to where my acne became severe.  I just ordered the tree oil products and was wondering if this should or does work better then pro active.  I want to let everyone know also that i am a black man if that means anything.

YOu have to clean your insides to not just slack stuff on your face the tea tree oil is fine, but you need to clean your insides take burdock root, dandelion root, and maybe even red clover flower. Eat lots of Zinc rich foods.

I think you should suck it up and go to a dermatologist. All the money you are wasting on these products they may not help or possibly make your acne worse.
You could have an infection under the skin and need to be on anti-biotics for it.
My dermatologist saved my life.If I had a shirt that said."I love my dermatologist" I would wear it everyday!

I personally use the tea tree oil stuff and if I could I would get on the highest mountain and sing it's praises. I had tried Proactiv, Acne Free, etc. But nothing helped as well as the tea tree oil soap.

That is true. recently my poor little sister went through the worst acne breakout ever. This is a girl that never had acne. Not even during her teenage years. She has always had the clearest most beautiful complexion ever. All of the suden, her face was covered with this huge pimples. I guess it was what people call cystic acne. She tried everything, from murad to proactive to peelings and nothing would help. It just kept getting worse. She finaly went to the dermatologist. She said it seemed to be stress related. She prescribed a cream that is $130 worth. My sister almost passed out when she heard the price. But she was so desparate she got it. Well, in less than two weeks her acne is gone. She says is the best $130 she ever spent.  Now she going crazy about the scars. Does anyone know anything that would help with that? Please, I'm desperate. She's so depresed, and it breaks my heart. She has those dark spots. Is there anything that helps fade them?

A mild chemical peel may help. It gets off the top layers of skin that are damaged to reveal the smooth untouched skin underneath.

Also, something called DERMABRASION (kinda like micro dermabrasion, but different) From what I understand, this is the most effective way of getting rid of scars.Along with various light/laser treatments.
There are fading cremes, but they usually take a while to work, and dont work all that great.
Something like what I'am on may help (Differin gel) because it increases cell turnover in skin, enabling it to heal itself.

Thanks so much Jules!! Is the Differin something she would get from the Dermatologist? Does she need a prescription for it? Thanks so much for your help.

Your sister could just have alot of Hyperpigmentation, which looks like a scar but isnt actually. It is a nasty red mark left over from the pimple (caused by inflammation) that can take weeks to months to fade. Actual scars will look like dents in the skin (ice pick marks). I thought I had alot of scars too,but after a few months the marks went away.

You do need a prescription for the differin. It is an actual acne medication,so she should be sure through a doctor it will not interact with what she is currently using.

I'm glad your sis got the acne under control though!Thumbs%20Up It takes some people a really long time before they find something that works for them.
Just tell her to stick with her dermatologist, who will give her the best advice.

Yeah she deft. doesn't have any dents, just those inflammation marks. OOFS! it is such a relieve to know they will actually go away. I Thought her pretty face would be ruined forever.

Thanks so much Jules, you have given me back my peace of mind. I just can't stand to see her suffer (or hear her suffer. She's in NJ I'm in FL). I went to visit her a couple of weeks ago, and that was all she could talk about. I'm gonna call her right now and let her know.

Again, thanks so so so much!
