There is another way in. First, try http://forums.longhaircommunity.com - http://forums.longhaircommunity.com , if that doesn't work, try: http://www.network54.com/Forum/227393/thread/1135527098/Step+by+step+-+through+the+back+door+to+the+forums+in+Windows+XP - http://www.network54.com/Forum/227393/thread/1135527098/Step+by+step+-+through+the+back+door+to+the+forums+in+Windows+XP

It appears that the Domain Name Server entries for the site were corrupted (to point to a different IP address) by spygrup.org, which is registered in Turkey.  Website owner is named "Burak Kaya" and email address is  mailto:bykruis@gmail.com - bykruis@gmail.com  with phone number 90.5367824223.  A criminal just waiting for arrest and prosecution...

This is driving me crazy, I love that forum and can spend hours just reading there. Is there any word on whether they are  working on getting it back up or a temporary meeting place for us members until things are straightened out?

cichlid here...

Yeah, LHC was down all day. I have the forums link bookmarked. It confused me but when I typed in the main page only then did I see that it got hacked. The Beauty Bottle got hacked again as well. Cry

I may not have posted much lately in the forums there...but I've still been on the site quite a bit almost everyday.

Nice to "see" you here, cichlid/always_alone... based on your current measurement it would seem that your hair growth is coming along very well!

Welcome Amy87, would you like to tell us a little bit about yourself and your hair?

Thanks Dave. I'm a regualr visitor and sporatic poster at LHC. I had just hit 100 posts the other day and was excited I could finally look at the photo gallery.

My hair is in the growing out stages. It was just past BSL when I cut it off into a very short pixie. It's now down to just below my shoulders (when wet or when I straighten it, just touching my shoulders when I let it dry natural because it's very curly.)

I just hope they can get the site back soon Cry

Has anyone tried the links I posted?!?! The back door instructions may only work if you have Windows XP

Actually, the website isn't down, it's just the homepage. That's why many of us are using the "back door"

There are still a lot of us posting there

I'm trying the backdoor now. I saw those were posted before the hacking incident, and thought they were just for connection problems and such. I assumed that if the site had been hacked they had taken over the whole site. And if it's just the homepage, why can't I get in through my bookmark for the forums? My bookmark never takes me to the homepage, just the forums, but it doesn't work since the hack.

And while we're on the subject, why on earth would someone hack a hair site?? I could see if it was some kind of political or activist site but we're just a bunch of women comparing shampoo for gosh sakes, lol.

Okay, YAY! the back door worked. I can calm down now.

Because you probably bookmarked a page that was accessed via the homepage. Mine won't work, either.

Glad you got in!

If you tried the instructions (I posted these above) and still cannot get in, try using a different browser.
I cannot access LHC from AOL, but I can with IE

If you still can't get in, read through some posts here: http://www.network54.com/Forum/227393/ - http://www.network54.com/Forum/227393/  (this is the backup board!)

The site admin. is working her butt off trying to fix this mess!

Amy: The world wildlife panda is an awesome design for a tattoo!

It won't hurt anything. I used the instructions to get in and my computer is working as usual.

This is my first time on this site and I was new to LHC site.  I loved LHC!  It had tons of helpful information.   I am sure I will enjoy information on HairBoutique too.
I was not able to get into LHC through the back door.  May try again later.  Does anyone believe the site will come back?

Thanks!
Stephanie

I like visiting both sites.  In a way, this forum is more cozy; I can keep up with the activity, and take the time to give thoughtful comments on all of the discussions in which I feel I can contribute.  Over there, it's so active that I only skim a tiny fraction of topics.

I would like to encourage everyone to continue participating here as wel, even after LHC is once again readily accessible (for those of you still having problems accessing it).  A community can only be as "good" as the members make it.  YKWIM? Smile

Well the majority anyway! Embarrassed

I have been lurking here at this site for a year or two, I had just never joined because it didn't seem as active with "regulars" like LHC. Now that I'm a member I will most likely be joining in more. I have even added a siggy pic! Big%20smile

Growing out a Pixie from 2005

Amy, your hair has grown a lot since 2005's pixie!  And it's gorgeous, too... (looking forward to seeing updated sig pics from time to time.) Smile

hi, glad to finally find this topic. I am still getting used to where everything is here - posted in the "main hair forum" last night and now can't find it, for example!

I am one of those who doesn't want to learn programming in order to get into LHC, so I am here on my mac for the duration. Just found that my LHC name doesn't work, and it doesn't seem to want to let me create a new account.

Hair-wise, just did a small trim - 1/2 inch or a little more at the very longest ends. Now my hair feels fuller and thicker; I'm glad I did that. I didn't want to go to a salon (salons, as well as dyeing, are the reason I have never been able to grow my hair) and I have never been happier with my hair.

As it grows it is also getting wavier and I am seeing the natural color more, which could, arguably, pass as the blonde I crave...

yay for natural gentle hair care! LHC come back...!

Geek Wow, some worthless little sub-human piece of refuse must be truly proud of himself now. IMO, there is only one reason that these things happen. Our system of justice is not harsh enough! Does anyone think that these wastes would risk, say, 10 years of prison, no probation, and worse, NO access to computers? Lock up all these automaton rats together so they will all have to face their worst nightmare endlessly--- human (or perhaps in their cases, robotic) interaction! Whoever did this, my only hope is that you come to realize that not one good soul would mourn your passing. And the sooner your time comes, the better for everyone!
Sincerely, Bob Angry

You don't have to learn anything, silly. All you need to know how to do is follow instructions. It's really easy
