How often do you think I`ll need to get them redone? Any possible way to maintain them at home? I don`t want to spend 75$ every 2 months!!!

Highlights/lowlights are not something you want to maintain yourself. Think how long it took the stylist to get the foils in. There is no way anyone can do that to themselves.

I usually go every four to six weeks, mainly because I can`t stand the look when the roots begin to show. I was at the hairdresser`s on Friday and he told me that have some sort of process that brightens up your natural color so that the highlights last 4 to 5 months. I couldn`t get it done because I had cut the top of my head and it hadn`t healed yet but it sounded really good. I hate having to run to the salon all the time to get my roots fixed.

I get mine redone every 4-6 months and just have the root portion highlighted. My color is only 2 steps away from my natural color.

To keep highlights bright between visits, I use Clairol Nautral Instincts washout in Sahara (gold).
