I'm 16 and I have light brown, mid length hair, and a round face shape. I used to have long hair but couldn't get it cut the right way so i just had it cut all off. I had MANY more compliments with my shorter hair (a little below my ears) but the thing is to keep up with it I had to get it cut like every other month and the texture kept changing and I began to not like it as much. So now i'm deciding to grow it out a bit more to get the right layers and all. I went to a hair stylist and told her i wanted side swept bangs and i ended up with a few strands of hair that just kind of fell on my face and did not like them at all. Now i really want to change my hair again but i have no idea what I could be satisfied with, because every time I leave the salon I am never completly happy with the results. My hair looks horrible when its flat so i need something that will give my roots some lift. Just any advice or ideas (pics are nice )on what i should get or how to communicate to hairdressers would be very appreciated!

Try finding a different stylist. Find somebody who wears a style you like and ask who cuts their hair. Also, ask the stylist to show you how to style it every day.

Get a bunch of those hairstyle magazines and pick out different styles you think are possible given your length/texture.Take them with you to a (new) stylist and discuss what one would be the best option for your hair. Never let the stylist talk you into something you dont want though!
I'm growing my hair out too and it is a PAIN. You do have to get it cut more often because some places grow faster then others (the back of my hair grows faster then the front)

I think you should have some layers put in that compliment your face. This (in my opinion) looks great on people with round faces. Not only will it frame your face but it will also give your roots that volume you're wanting.

Yep definantly layers, they will lighten the weight of your hair and make it more bouncy.
