Get your hair in top condition. If it's dry, it won't be shiny and smooth. My hair is extremely soft and silky after doing a deep conditioning oil treatment. I agree. Healthy hair is always the shiniest. You can use
products heavy on the silicone to get the silky look, (providing cones
don't frizz your hair type - they do some types), but it won't stay
silky if you keep using the cone products and they build up making your
hair dull and limp. You can clarify them off fairly frequently to
keep your hair nice, while still getting their benefits.
