Ever since I`ve been putting brown lowlights in my dark blonde hair, they seem to turn a reddish color as they fade. I hate this red in my hair, and need to know if there`s any way I can get rid of it. I didn`t think my hair had any red in it, since it is an ash blonde, so I have no clue why the color turns so red. Thanks for any help!

My natural hair color had no red in it either (a light, golden brown). But when my hair is colored, even if the color has no red in it, my hair turns red. I have no idea why this happens. I just had my natural color dyed, (I said only one shade darker, with no red tones), and its red. Now I have to go back and hopefully get it fixed. This happened to me once before, except I was the one that dyed my hair. My hair stylist got the red out successfully by using a heavy foil highlight on my hair, and then used a toner over it, which turned it a light golden brown close to my natural color. Perhaps this would work for you. I would also like to know why my hair always turns red. Hope it helps to know your not the only one with this problem.
